Well, I finally got to pop open my first bottle of Oud Bruin 2016, and, damn, it was delicious. It was a huge improvement over the previous one.

 

Let us know what you find out. I may like to drive over to the brewery this weekend to grab some.

 

Given that its ABV has seemingly been around 7% or so, I don't see any reason why you couldn't call it a Weizenbock. That's how I've viewed/drank it--more or less in the mold of Ayinger's Weizenbock or even Vitus.

Some other places on the internet where people tick and rate beer classify Dancing Man as a Weizen Bock.

Advance warning, this is THIRD hand info, but a close friend of mine said his dad was just at the brewery and saw them installing new equipment, asked what it was and an employee said it's a new canning line.

So yeah I hope that is accurate!

 

We'll be there all day tomorrow, I'll see if I can confirm this.

 

New Glarus is indeed installing a canning line. Not sure what size or which beers they intend to can (though one can assume 24-packs of Spotted Cow are in the plans).

Also go to watch them fill up the coolship. Some interesting sours in the tanks there...

I asked a mid-level employee, "There are rumors that you are installing a canning line. Is that true?" He said, "Yes, but we don't know which beers we'll be canning yet."

I take that to mean that they are installing a 12 or 16 oz canning line. I suppose they might be trying to fool all of us. Our tour mysteriously did not pass the bottling line like it usually does. It did appear that the regular kegging equipment was not where it used to be. But whether they moved it to a new location or are installing a new one, I don't know.

 

How do you define who is a mid-level employee?

Your question seems to be asking something they have already stated...yes, at some point they will install a canning line. Are they actually installing a non - kegging canning line at this time?

Doesn't seem like you actually uncovered any new information...

 

It'll be 12 packs of Cow and Moon Man. Available 2017 but hopefully sooner.
