Birthday beer?

    I'm turning 29 on Sunday and plan, as per usual, to crack a bottle of BCS to celebrate - just have to decide which vintage. But for the last few years, Bourbon County has been my go-to celebratory birthday beer - not only because it's one of my top 5 favorite beers of all time, but also because the first bottle I ever had was on my birthday a few years back.

    Anyone else have a special birthday beer? And a story behind it?

    Sidebar: Thinking I'm crack one of this year's releases because, for me, it's been the best vintage fresh.

    Lagy Sucks. Always having Sucks on my birthday was instituted a few years ago when I turned 40. My wife wanted my birthday dinner to consist of some of my favorite things, so I requested sushi, maple donuts, and a quart of Sucks (favorite beer at the time...maybe still). Helluva meal (my kids only liked one of the offerings, while my wife and I were in heaven), and the Sucks tradition has stuck every since.

    Happy early birthday! I will be turning 25 this coming Monday. My beer tradition for my birthday isn't necessarily a specific beer, but every April 18th, I crack open one of my whales. Every year I try a different one. I am going with a lambic this year. I've got it narrowed down to Fou Foune, Saint Lamvinus, or Hommage. I am not sure which one yet.

    I wish I could say I had a specific beer, but as an aside, my birthday and craft beer hold a special place. My eyes were opened to the world of craft beer 3 years ago when I went to my very first beer fest that happened to fall on my birthday. It is always the same weekend so my bday always falls within a couple days of this specific beer fest..therefore..on my birthday..I am usualy enjoying many..many..many.. new and different beers :grinning:

    Nice, man. We usually do pizza from our local joint - but not just utility pizza, really crazy combos with toppings like bison meatballs, goat cheese, brie, radishes, all kinds of interesting stuff.

    I just turned 30 on April 6th and celebrated with a Hopslam. A local restaurant had it and luckily for me it was happy hour so it was $3! Best birthday ever lol

    I don't have a yearly beer but I bought an Allagash St Klippenstein specifically for this year. Its been waiting in my beer fridge for about two weeks and I've got about two weeks to go until I drink it. If I was going to pick a beer to drink every year it may be Allagash Curieux. I wouldn't mind drinking anything from Tree House on my birthday either but I look at the Curieux as more of a special day beer since of its cost.

    I just celebrated my birthday on Tuesday (47), for me and a buddy we tend to get together and try and have something special (ie. top 250 perhaps) for our birthdays. Usually ends up being a few bottles. We couldn't do Tuesday because of work and family commitments, so we will be getting together this weekend.

    There are a couple of mystery beers coming my way and I have a 2013 Goudenband waiting to be enjoyed.

    Happy Birthday and enjoy your final year in your 20's. Each subsequent decade will bring new aches and pains (although the 30's aren't bad). When you've had as many birthdays as I've had it's hard to have just one birthday beer. But in my pre craft days I liked to have a Bass Ale. These days it's whatever I happen to have on hand.

    When I turned 21 I drank 3-4 TG bombers. Usually I just splurge on a bottle I wouldn't usually have.
