It's really smart actually. That East Coast style is really sought after here in CA right now. They are the first brewery, that I know of, around here that is doing that style of IPA.

 

Highland Park has had at least one, but only had it on tap. Bottle Logic has had a few as well. I am sure there are others.

 

Shows how much I leave the South Bay and the friendly confines of Smog and Monkish...haha

 

Yeah there's a few but i dont know of anybody that's canning/bottling them.

not exactly NE style IPA. it is with appearance, but after that, Stone keeps it pretty Stone.

 

i love everything about this except the waiting in line part

this is going to be huge for Monkish though. kind of crazy and unpredicted

 

Great news from the guys at Monkish. I do like the east coast style IPA's. But love our west coast better. But who knows...maybe they will change the way east coast does IPA's. Before the First Things First can release I visited Monkish one time. Looks like that is about to change. I can see these guys kinda like Other Half in Brooklyn with the line at 3-4 hours before opening for their can release. Is Monkish the new west coast Other Half? Hope they kill it.

I'll be down in SD for V017, then probably stop by Abnormal. It's tempting to race back to LA to get cans. But I'm hoping to try this latest hazy effort on draft in the PM.

I'd love cans, but don't think I'll make it in time. Feels ridiculous to even try... oh beer...
