Will you still go through same amount of time, effort and $ to purchase as much bc varientsin 2016?

We all know there are many of us who had gone through extreme lengths to purchase/acquire BC and its varients last Black Friday. I personally know of many who has stood in lines all through the wee hours of the night before just to be able to over pay for Rare or spent a whole day running to stores after stores to snag up what they could find or even many who had some how found out about local distributors or even out of state stores who was selling BC cases early and came back home with literally cases upon cases of BCBS. We all know how this story played out. Reg and BW were found to be infected, talks of (potential infection) with Props now and who knows what we can expect from Regal and Rare later on. Question for all, after last year's unpleasant experience with the bourbon county products, would that change your purchasing game plan for next fall's release in regards to the level of effort, time and money you invested or will you still by whatever means necessary purchases as much of the varients as possible with hopes that they correct whatever happened wrong from this past year?

(Guess this poll is more geared towards those who had gone through extra efforts and means to purchase bottles last fall. I understand not everyone did the same)

I will be more than happy to spend as much time and money as I did last year, since I guarantee that Goose Island will either switch to pasteurization or some other process that will assure no repeat of this. That said, I did pay attention, I did go to multiple stores trying to get variants, but I didn't wait on line, and I didn't pay the super high markups at some stores, so I will do the same this year. I realize that I am not the ideal poll candidate, but...

I'll be there on Black Friday. Mistakes happen, they refunded my money and have a much longer history than one year.

I'll be on the hunt again this year. The only thing I'll be doing differently is focusing more on getting the original. The regular BCBS was the best one of 2015.

I'll be waiting in line somewhere, and I even have a new shirt to wear for the occasion.

I didn't chase last year, so my efforts will be unchanged for 2016. If I see it, I'll buy it - but I also know when to go by a certain place . Mistakes happen, and like @cavedave said, GI will put a fix on the problem.

Never had a problem getting it... shows up somehow eventually.

In fact I know of a place that still has bottle of regular, barleywine, and even rye on the shelf still.

Besides the quality problems, I believe I have reached my limit of standing in line for limited releases sold one bottle at a time. It's got old. Add to that the new 500ml bottles which give me a little too much 14% beer in one serving. (Even though my better half cops a sip or two). It's also very expensive. I have no grudge against GI. Actually I kind of feel sorry for their situation as I'm sure they thought they were selling golden goods. I'll be happy with a bottle or two of Zhukov this year.

I'll get what I can easily and be happy. I have been lucky in two ways the past few years. One, stores in my area set reasonable limits and have variants. Two, my wife is willing to come with me if necessary to get one each of the variants.

Bad news, my wife really enjoys the variants so now I get half as much to drink. Trade offs....

It required very little effort to acquire what I wanted. I walked into the best store in Topeka around 1pm and grabbed 2 bottles of regular BCBS. There were still at least 2 cases left and there was no bottle limit.

I don't see myself chasing it again. Around me it is 12-20 bucks a bottle, after waiting in line, limit 1 or 2. A lot of my friends much farther away from GI still have it sitting around for $7.99. I'll just trade with them or mail them a check. I will drink one from the year before every black Friday, not leave the house, and still have a case by Christmas.

My extent of waiting in line for it will be at FOBAB. Eitherwise. I'll find it when it finds me.

So...you won't pay $8.99 for 16.9 oz of barrel aged 14% beer, but you're happy to pay $13 for 22 oz of 11% beer?

Honestly, the only BC I've had was through trades. I'd like to try my hand and see what I can get this year, but to be honest, I really don't care for chasing beers around town, standing in line, or over paying. For those reasons, I'll probably ask my favorite bottle shop/inventory guy if/when they get it in or if he's heard any news and go from there.

More like $13 for 16.9 oz. And buying another GI product for the privilege. No savings there. And no infection. And no line. And it lasts two nights. And I enjoy it just as much. And one is sour apples, and the other oranges. So, yes, I will. But, you got me figured for stupid. More for you at $9. Cheers.

Seems to vary depending on where you are. I have had more trouble finding Zhukov here (and in fact not long ago waited 3 hours in line at CCB to get some) in Gainesville than BCBS. And BCBS was in fact $8.99, and could be bought by the case with no contingency.

And let's not beat around the bush: 22 oz. of 11% in one sitting is equivalent alcohol than 16.9 oz. at 14.3%. I was speaking to your "too much alcohol" comment. Don't be silly. But congrats, I am sure all the hipsters think you're cool now that you've told us how you'll avoid the stuff.

Your asking me on the morning after popping a BW that tasted like an off Flanders Ale. So, as some who's been buying their stuff for years, I'm in the NOPE camp. I may mellow, but I'm pissed that the bottles just bought at a major retailer just 2 months ago were even on the shelf when GI knew well before that.

I'm sorry. What's a hipster? And I don't buy beer by the ABV. Go away, please.
