I think so. I was there today and it was a good time. I believe I saw at least 5 growlers of SoG being filled. maybe more. IMHO SoG was like a Lagunitas kinda sucks ale, if that makes sense.

Just had my first visit to Tired Hands Ooey Gooey and Sea of Green were excellent. I feel bad for people who trade for this beer and dont get to enjoy the atmosphere. I recieved great food, beer, and service at Tired Hands. Feel bad for people who cant drive here and enjoy many beers.

Had a chance to stop by yesterday afternoon. Sea of Green is a lovely DIPA. Very well balanced. OoeyGooey surprised me though. I thought that was excellent.

Took my first trip to Tired Hands today. I tried a 3 beers and took a growler of Sea of Green home. Living 15 minutes from there I see myself going there often as all the beers I had were tasty and the atmosphere is nice and inviting.

I'm excited to see how things progress with Tired hands in the next few months/years.

Hayden, I tried the Sea of Green, very nice, but the Ooey Gooey was my fave.

Gotta make it there, atmosphere and food combined with great beer at its freshest is an unbeatable combo.

Many folks don't remember that as great as The Alchemist beer always was and is, the atmosphere in their now departed pub, and the food too, was the absolute top quality, just multiplying the enjoyment. Sounds like Tired Hands has similar.

When I first started poking around here, it's fair to say that Saison's got pretty short shrift. Not from everybody, of course, and not as bad as some of the more noteworthy punching bags (sorry Linus). Fast forward a couple years, and it's apparent that Saison's are practically a whole beer world unto themselves.

I think nearly all styles of beer are going through this. Craft brewers push the envelope on everything. Ingredients, aging vessels, and every other form of interpretation imaginable. Whereas I'm not a fan of the traditional delivery of certain styles, many brewers have put significant spins on classic styles that I really enjoy. A plain jane saison isn't my thing. But, Tired Hands' coffee saison Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt, was excellent. As have been Mysterious Mood, Ooey Gooey, and the the Single Hop Simcoe. The Undertow was the only one I can remember that I was less than enthused by.

I agree 100000000%. I recently had a coffee pale ale from another envelope pusher, Jeff O'Neil at Peekskill, fresh coffee aroma, bright roast in the middle of a hoppy pale, who'd a thunk it would have been so delicious.

The British throw stones at our lack of tradition, or else say we are just imitating stuff done before. But let's face it, American brewers are doing things in as good or better a way with more daring, more innovation, and equally incredible skill.

The Europeans smile and say how long they've been at it. Can you imagine where American brewing might be in 50 years? Let alone 500? We are blessed my friends, and TH is just the latest of our blessings.

I've had 3 of their offerings so far and they're all been decent but nothing mind-blowing. I had high hopes for the Simcoe Saison but it was just watery and almost bland...I've also had Leaflet & Lazy Feat and they were both okay but not something I'd really go after again. I have a growler of Mysterious Mood in the fridge I'll get to this weekend...we'll see how that one is. It this place was right down the street, sure I'd be all over it but not good enough to deal with shipping and such.

I wouldn't say mind blowing either, but then again when you expect something to be mind blowing it usually disappoints. To bad the delicado didn't make it too you, you'd probably see them a little brighter. I've been more impressed with some of the hoppy selections. Give the mysterious mood a try, that was my favorite saison I've tried so far. I think the best part of what they are doing is new beers every week. They still have a few staples, but week in week out I find myself having to stop by there.

Yeah, sucks about that Delicado...oh well. It's not like I've hated the beers I've had, and I will continue to drink them, but yeah I guess I might have hyped them up too much in my head. Like I said, if they were down the street I'd be all over it. They do have a nice selection of styles and mix it up a ton!

I think it's more of the excitement of the ingredient they use, snail shells, anise in an IPA, etc... I find myself thinking, wow that sounds interesting I'd like to try that, so I go back. That and I'm yet to be dissappointed in anything I've tried. They have been working towards bottling things lately, so will definitely help with the distribution aspect, I hate having to send growler.

did you trade for those beers? i'm almost thinking at this point that nobody should be allowed to review and judge beers based on a growler that has spent at least 3+ days in the growler, in the summer, through the mail.
but, then again, i'm probably beating a dead horse with that comment.
it wasn't as hoppy as last year.
