A few years ago I was pleasantly surprised by Widmer Brothers Citra Blonde Summer Brew. I continue to buy it every Summer. I've recently jumped on the Gose bandwagon and look forward to quenching my thirst with a few of them as well this summer, especially some Otra Vez.

Yes, and Sunny Ridge is anticipated also. But I'm not talking about Framinghammer, the baltic porter (of which I already, frankly, have quite a lot). Framingham Lager is their old-fashioned supposed-light lager...

It may only be Mass. distro.

    I usually just drink more gose/berliner weisse/pils/helles/hefe/etc.

Though I can also be counted on to dump at least 2 gallons of Narragansett Del's Shandy down my stupid face too.

I love summer seasonals... blond, drinkable... sign me up. Some of us do in fact say that "so and so summer beer is really good!"

The three that I'm looking forward to the most are:
    Smuttynose Hayseed
    Southampton Summer Blonde
    Troegs Sunshine Pils

Having some sense of your preferences, I'd recommend all three to you if they make it to your area... but with the following caveats: Troegs Sunshine is obviously a lager, not sure if this matters considering the thread title... and Hayseed has a lemony quality to it. For what it's worth, yeah, Sam Adams Summer is citrusy, and if you are referring to Narragansett's Shandy, it's like lemon candy... but Narragansett Summer Ale isn't lemony for me and it's one you should try if you haven't already.

Summer Love used to be my favorite summer seasonal, but when I grabbed some last summer, my feelings on it flipped so drastically... it was a flip like nothing I've ever encountered before. I don't know what happened to me! I grabbed one new bottle this year with eager anticipation and now know that this one just doesn't click with me anymore. Maybe the pendulum will swing back for me some day.

Just to be clear, my feelings changed last summer, not this year. I'm not one to immediately pin it on the beer, so I feel that the change was most likely with me rather than the beer.

I find most summer ales to be uninspiring, but two that keep me looking forward to their release are Fremont Summer Ale and Sunriver SUP.

Not sure if it's a seasonal, but Avery's Lilikoi Kepolo just hit my market - tried some this weekend and think it would make an exceptional summer beer. Also, though not a seasonal, love Victory's Prima Pils - great summer drinker.

Heard Goose is bringing back their summer kolsch. Interested to give that a whirl.

It's been in six packs for at least the last two summers. The brewer calls it a Belgian "single." It could use more carb, but I remember it being a winning combo of characterful but drinkable. I forgot to mention to @Urk1127 that it's perhaps a tiny bit lemony too.

EDIT: Sixers weren't easy to come by though.

I just tried Fremont Summer Ale, a very mellow APA, with hints of lager and pils as well. Pleasantly surprised, very refreshing, and not a hint of fruit to be found. Perfect ending to a day of yard work, although would have equally nice during the yard work....
