Good call making the effort to get up to Fremont. You've got lots of places you can check out up there in addition to Fremont Brewing. Cool area, I used to live there years ago...

Any suggestions on what to do in addition to Fremont Brewing??

    Thanks

Bottleworks is about a mile north of Fremont Brewing. You could walk a few blocks and hop on a 16 to get up there fairly easily.

Walk over to Brouwer's, it's is only a few blocks away.

Also, just walk around the area and check out the funky shops, and stuff like the troll under the bridge, the Lenin statue, the rocket, etc...

I've made a few changes and now on the first day instead of going to Target we'll go to Fremont (Fremont Brewery, the troll, the rocket, Lenin's statue funky shops, etc). Whole Foods stays.

The next day (Sunday) I'll skip Pike Brewery and add Target (my wife will seriously kill me if we don't go there). Will visit Beecher's Handmade and have a quick lunch there instead of PB.

    What do you think, better??

You should really save your shopping for Oregon. No sales tax!

I know and also my wife does, but she loves Target and in Portland no one of the locations is close to our hotel :slight_frown: . Regarding H&M I think will be able to convince her about skipping Seattle's store and wait for Portland

I think including Fremont will make your visit more enjoyable. You'll get out of downtown, get to see one of our neighborhoods as well as a bus ride where you'll get some views of Lake Union and all our wonderful construction projects (plenty of that in South Lake Union too). Lots of little boutiques in Fremont for your wife to check out, and Fremont Brewing is fun. If possible, I'd also stop in @ Brouwer's as long as you're so close, but it's 21+ only, as is Bottleworks. So you'd have to leave your daughter with your wife/brother-in-law.

I'm really glad you suggestoed going to Fremont, I've read about the neighborhood and I'm sure we'll spend a great evening there.

Fremont Brewing looks like the coolest place on earth (and in the center of the universe can't be beat).

I know Bouwer's and Bottleworks are highly appreciated but I think we'll stick with Fremont Brewing.

    Cheers

Brouwer's is REALLY close to Fremont Brewing, so if you have time, check it out. Plus, I'd be surprised if they didn't have some Fremont Brewing beers on tap.

Send the wife & child to Theo's Chocolates and go to Brouwers while they get their free sample on.

Back to Mexico City, the trip was great.

A quick recapitulation of what we did.

On saturday we went to Fremont (Troll, Center of the Universe, Rocket, Lenin, Interurban) then grabbed some food at PCC Natural Market and headed to Fremont Brewing, drank a Summer Ale and an Interurban, since we were really tired left and headed back to the hotel with a quick stop at Whole Foods where I bought a Santa's Little Helper to finish the day.

On sunday we went to the market, Beecher's and Target to buy a stoller (forgot ours), then went to the aquarium and the harbor tour. Went shopping to H&M and nike store, walked to Pine Box just to discovered was 21+, so we walked all the way from PB to Bambino's to have dinner, then walked to our hotel.

On monday we went again to the market, then to the observation deck at Columbia Center, Pioneer Square and Collins Pub, there tried Port Mongo, Boneyard Hop Venom and Alpine/New Belgium Super IPA, walked to International District to Uwajimaya, then to Filson and headed to Elysian Fields where I had the Immortal, Dragonstooth and the Wise, after that went to Safeco Field where I got a ball because I had México's flag!!! While at Safeco tried a Diamond Knot.

On monday went from the hotel straight to the Amtrak Station, had a Black Butte on the train and that's how Seattle's part of the trip finished!!
