The new bottles are super ugly. It is not a cost saving measure, it's a money grab. The whole idea of a proprietary bottle with a weird size(16.9 oz/499800.6 ml) is that you have nothing to compare the price to. Either way the stuff inside is what matters.

How much more are we paying for the new bottle? I was under the presumption MRSP was the same cost per oz. Anyways, I think I prefer the new one. Pour 10 oz, and if I want a night cap, I let the other 6 oz warm up, and it tastes so delicious.

Though, it has switched from an anytime occasion beer to a Friday/Saturday or celebration beer.

They saved money on paper (labels), electricity (for running the labeling machines), and probably human capital as well.

I guarantee they didn't save any money. If anything, they spent a ton of money on custom bottle molds when they switched away from a standard 12oz bottle. I'd imagine the new neck flag labels are more prone to being torn or messes up during production/shipping too. They obviously aren't too worried about it since their profit margin per bottle went up anyways.

The old bottles were really simple and elegant, which I really like in beer packaging. That said, the new ones are also expertly branded and pretty unique, drawing more inspiration from bourbon culture.

The only way I'm buying it this year is if they bring back 12 oz bottles with the 2008 label.

It's definitely the beer inside that matters. I personally really liked the gold touches on the old labels, especially with the size of the text. Those BW labels were mad sexy. & I dug the blacked out format of the regular. But it is what it is; sucks that label change happened at the same time as an infected batch, it will definitely be remembered for that

    Maybe for 2.

There's a reason no one serves this beer in a pint glass man. 16.9 is an awful size for this bottle

I'm with you and prefer the old labels. I also miss those old bottles when one could buy an entire case of bombers off the shelf with no problem before all the hype and hoops to jump through to buy this beer. :slight_frown:

I liked the old bottles much more than the new style, but the thing that will keep me from buying BCBS, BCBCS, and BCBBW again is all the problems they had with infections this year.

I prefer a 12 oz. format and the old labeling. They did give us "free extra surprise flavoring" this time though .
