For a company that is filled with pot friendly folks, this sure is sounding like one hell of a buzz kill of an event.

Was looking for answers about this party since I saw that email too and found this thread so I created an account just to give you all a heads up since I called them directly about this.

The building is not complete and is still bare bones, like just walls and some systems are up right now, so they don't have permits to have customers yet that is why it is only for INDUSTRY (distributors, vendors, etc.). They're not even sure if they'll have beer aside from a few bottles for samples. The eventbrite page was to keep track of how many people were coming but like others said earlier, someone leaked it to the public so they had about 3000+ people sign up for tickets. They specifically said DO NOT come unless you can show proof (what counts as proof i have no idea) if you have no proof you will be turned away, even if you are in THE INDUSTRY. I suggested they should make this clearer in another email since the eventbrite page said nothing about INDUSTRY only since I'm sure they will have to turn a lot of people away who didn't notice this.

i'm just curious, does having a beer blog count as being in the industry? even if you don't make any money off of it and live with your parents?

    Yes, as long as you have a note from said parents. Other forms of proof include, but are not limited to;

    1. Neck beards
    2. Adding the word "Playa" to the end of sentences
    3. Arriving with a home brew in a bottle with a homemade label
    4. Inserting the phrase "the industry" into the conversation more than necessary. Ex. "I know this is an industry event only for people in the industry. That's what I tried to tell non industry people, but they didn't believe that you had to be in the industry to be a part of this event. Luckily, I am in the industry and can attend this industry only party...."

Beer bloggers are considered part of THE INDUSTRY per the "real" invites. If you write a beer blog then you are definitely part of THE INDUSTRY and they will not turn you away.

Also, THE INDUSTRY invitees were given a +1, so it's going to be pretty interesting to see how Lagunitas tries to keep everyone out unless they are THE INDUSTRY.

    THE INDUSTRY

This is some Bottle share, playa situation. The email really doesn't put in bold the fact that this was or is industry only. regardless of if the event got out, it got out. So they really need to deal with it somehow.

They actually put way more focus on the parking situation... which, is going to be very frustrating when shuttles have to turn away people or cause a backlog in those shuttle stops.

    This thread is golden.

    2016 - 'It's a bottle share Playa!"

It was great. Lagunitas threw a great party and were obviously more concerned that everybody had a great time than checking "Industry" credentials. Kudos to Lagunitas and anti-kudos to... Erm... I'll take the high road...

There was security at the door asking people to present their Ciceronie certificates or identify the off-flavors in a few samplers to prove they were THE INDUSTRY.

This mother****er. Saw so many pictures from those not in THE INDUSTRY having a blast. So glad this doom and gloom sayer kept on bashing it over our NON INDUSTRY heads that us commoners weren't allowed.

I obviously don't like the high road.

What was it like having to breath the same air as non-industry folks last night?
