No beer to go or no beer period?

It is truly amazing how hostile the City of Los Angeles is to small businesses. Even more amazing that Firestone has stuck with this, rather than just moving to El Segundo, Torrance, or a host of other local cities that would welcome them with open arms. I wish them the best in navigating this endless maze of ordinances.

Well I think they are kind of stuck now, unfortunately. Here's to hoping it gets worked out quickly. Does anyone know exactly what happened? I searched social media and found nothing besides this thread.

I only know that the inspector showed up unexpectedly and then shut down their beer sales. Their hands are tied at the moment.

Based on what my wife said it seemed like they were just trying to figure out what happened and what's going on. People on the phone, interviews with employees, etc...

I agree, hope they get this sorted out shortly.

Why in the hell did they open this place in the city of LA in the first place?? Torrance or a South Bay city would've had a parade and rolled out the red carpet for them in a heart beat. Even if they get this problem squared away another new one could take its place unexpectedly at any given moment

million dollar hold up after million dollar hold up. It's no wonder that Duvel deal looked so tempting to them dealing with the headaches that the city has thrown their way.

If they got growler fill permits, I'm curious as to what is the hold up or what they could have possibly been in breach of on the to-go side of things. You would think that they would still be able to sell through of merch that wasn't actual beer.

    This is some crazy shit.

Maybe the inspector is also a sh*tlord beer trader and wanted his Parabajava limits raised...

    Official statement

For fans coming to #FWVenice, just a heads up that retail beer will now be sold at the Propagator Restaurant but merchandise is still available in the Brewery Store. L.A. County continues to make us jump through hoops; this time it’s having more than 25 square feet of beer on display in our Brewery Store. Regardless, we’re still open, so come on by.

He was probably asked for his ID on his 1 limit purchased which pissed him the fuck off.

Well, that is ridiculous, stack those cases to the ceiling then! Out of curiosity, how many square feet did they say you were using?
Knowing how slow the city is to move and act, i'm guessing this will take a month or so to fix (pure speculation),

Wow - that just sounds like being difficult for the sake of being difficult. So much for hoping that the FW opening would usher in a new era of more/easier openings in LA proper.

I'm honestly not sure, I'm back up in Paso at the moment so not fully in the loop on this. Just trying to relay information as I get it.

do you know how big the "beer cave" walk in cooler is? id imagine its bigger than 25 square feet and that makes anything larger than that area useless in that cooler.
