CANBIF Spring 2016 - Hints & Hauls

To my sender:: I rate most of the things I try on the other site under the same username. I like all beers so odds are if it's something you like I'll like it also. Ideally I'd like stuff that is not available in Alberta.

Hint #1 - my target lives in a city with an NHL team.

 

My Target has had lot's of beers and lives West of me and West of my hometown.

Everything I like is in my profile. Everything I don't like is in my profile. Wants are fairly up to date. You got this!

 

My target is quite a bit West of me, in my old home town! He's had quite a few of the Bellwoods I've been saving for this BIF, but not the last few releases. My box might be a little more diverse than usual but there will still be some Bellwoods love.

For me, I'm super easy to please. I like everything. I have a particular love of sours of all kinds, but you could fill a shipper full of other styles and I'd still be a happy camper. Pretty much everything I've ticked over the last couple of years is on Untappd (boney), but I wont turn down drinking a good beer twice.

A quick note, I'll be on vacation May 14 to 29. If you ship me a box towards the end of the shipping window, I might not be around to pick it up for a while, so no rush getting it out.

To my sender: My Hads of the past year or so are on my untappd- see my profile page for the link. All Hads prior would be right here, but I doubt I remember much from that long ago. I love fresh IPA's, Bretts, sours and other interesting beers. I dont love big 13%+, or very Bourbon forward beers, but I still have them from time to time if they come highly recommended.

Hint#1: My target has been on BA for less time than me.

Now off to creep on my target. This feels dirty.

 

My eastward target has posted in this thread - thankfully, as their total lack of hads and wants on BA/lack of online presence for other beer sites might've made it tricky to find suitable bottles. Even two good friends who have sent boxes to my target were at a loss for suggestions, as one was a CANBIF & the other a very small trade.

That said, my initial list will be changing very little after viewing their hints! Apparently a shipper full of items thematically related to their profession will suit them just fine.

As for me, if I could drink nothing but gueuze, lambic, saisons, and wilds, then I'd want for little. Well, occasionally interspersed with dank hop bombs, and massive barrel-aged stouts and porters, of course.

My want list is large (and my hads are reasonably up to date, for Quebec and Ontario, at least), but it should give a pretty good idea of what I'd enjoy. If my sender happens to live near enough to the American border, that'd be a huge bonus (unless you happen to border Montana or North Dakota ).

For my sender, I'm pretty easy about styles and am a bit of a ticker. That said, I'm not going to complain about being "forced" to have a great beer again! Best bet for hads is to check my untappd profile, same username.

 

Welp, this will be a difficult box to put together. Might have to go basically all Ottawa/Ontario on this one. My target is located in the province I've sent the majority of my CANBIF boxes to!

That being said, I prefer IPA's and saisons for the most part. But send me whatever, I don't really care. Ignore whatever is in my BA profile and reference my Untappd instead - https://untappd.com/user/KeKeKumba - it's totally fine to send something I've already had.

 

The NHL team in the playoffs closest to my target's city, is made up of 27.6% Canadians.

Hint #2 I went on a road trip to NYC with someone who lives in your city currently.

 

My target lives well west of me. He/she is a proven top notch trader and I hope my box lives up. There will be lots of treats in there including a can of breakfast worthy beer from Treehouse.

To my sender: I am more of a drinker than a ticker and I am always happy with quality beers. I love adjunct ba stouts and fruited sours. I would be more than happy with a box full of Saint lam

My only issue with ipas is that I get them and I want to drink them all right away while they are at their freshiest...and that often doesn't end well.

 

Hint #2: My target has yet to post in this thread. C'mon man, I need some guidance piecing together this box!

To my sender: I've also updated my 'gots' with what I have or will be receiving from recent trades.

Hint #3: My target appears to want some Four Winds... excellent!

 

My target's likes/dislikes mean i am going to have to swap out some things I had been holding onto in anticipation of this. Looks like some shopping is in order!

Hint #2: My target has been on BA longer than I have.

 

Hint #1: Beyond being registered here, my target has little presence on BA, so some off-site stalking was required for me to determine what he likes. Looks like they lean heavily toward sours, as well as big stouts, Belgian-style fare, and IPAs. There were some real high-quality Hads in there, but I didn't see any Michigan beers in their list of check-ins...

To my sender, definitely a fan of stouts and sours. I am a ticker, but I do prefer quality.

Hint 1: your city does not have a chl franchise. Maybe someday?

 

Hint: it is very hard to find a beer you haven't had at a quality that I think you would appreciate.
