Not drinking it as of yet but will be drinking my first ever Heady Topper IPA this evening and hoping it is half as good as I have heard.

Just got home from work. That 9-6 overnight. I kinda dig this beer, its semi frozen right now lol. Ale brewed with raspberry and blackberries and lemongrass. The lemongrass really isnt my thing (lemongrass smells and tastes similar to scallions to me but it adds a sharp pungentness to this beer without being oniony) but i can respect this. Im interested to see how Founders does it in Rubaeus. Cheers all and good night.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday!

Always excellent. Big rich flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, molasses, fudge, and light smoke/char/coffee; with some herbal/spicy hops and hints of dark fruits. Bittersweet balanced finish; with a creamy/silky medium bodied mouthfeel; with some light hop/roast malt stickiness. Highly complex and extremely delicious.

Fantastic IPA. Flavors of big juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon/orange zest, and light pine hops; with moderate caramel/toasted bready malt and herbal/floral/grassy hops earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness; super smooth finish with balanced hop stickiness and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness. Has all the mosaic and citra hop flavors I love with balanced bready malts. Wish I would have revisited this sooner than I did, definitely going to be a regular in my fridge now.

Still tasting incredible. Flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee; with chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted bread, vanilla, cream, bourbon, oak, and light dark fruits. Light-moderate bourbon/oak spice and roasted coffee bitterness; nice balanced bitter/sweet finish with a fairly full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel. This has definitely mellowed out after 4-5 months. Less warming on the ABV, and also not quite as huge on the coffee as it was before, but I still love it. Hope they make it again this year. I still have one left in the cellar.

2013 is tasting amazing! Huge flavors of caramel, toffee, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, and nutty malts; balanced by fruitiness of raisin, plum, fig, date, apple, and cherry. Light balancing herbal/earthy bitterness on the finish. Awesome creamy/silky mouthfeel and super smooth finish for 11.9%. Very lightly warming. I need to go buy some 2015 while they are still on the shelf. I absolutely love this beer after the 2 year mark from past experience.

    Cheers

An IPA brewed with Earl Grey tea and guava puree... I had my doubts but, sweet merciful Dionysus, this is stupidly delicious!

A bit overcast and rainy in Upstate NY but it's the perfect time to check in on my latest home brew project: Imperial Porter aged on Shamballa (local coffee roaster in Baldwinsville, NY) Mexican whole bean coffee, cacao nibs and oak cubes soaked in Templeton Rye Whiskey. The coffee roaster suggested doing a brewing project when I was in buying coffee and I just couldn't pass up the opportunity. He supplied 1 pound of his beans in exchange for a case of the beer when finished. This one is a winner. I love that glass BTW

I believe I'll indulge in this roasty, chocolatey dessert with breakfast before I tidy up the house. I'm really hoping the sun makes an appearance today so I can mow the ever growing wet lawn. Happy Saturday gang!
