This has been a problem at Tired Hands releases since they did releases at the Cafe.

I wish people that close to the front of the line would grow a pair and walk ahead of these empty chairs. These 'holes know what they're doing isn't right, but why should they stop if no one is doing anything about it.

I saw a group of 4 guys shotgun cans of St. Oner right next to the can line, it seemed like a dumb thing to do.

The people in the front were a mixed bag, saw some regulars that I see all the time and also saw a huge contingent of people with out of state plates. I think it was better to lower the allotments and make a bunch more people happy and piss off a few people. You are never going to make everyone happy, but I think they did a really nice job overall. They didn't expect the turnout they got, and did a nice job trying to accommodate everyone. That guy chugging milkshake seems like a real winner. Tired hands needs a hell of a lot more people than 300 regulars to stay in business.

Agreed. I was happy when I stopped to think that it meant more people would get to enjoy the beer. In retrospect, 8 cans is plenty when it comes to a beer you never know if/when you'll see again.

I can't believe the comment about TH not expecting the turnout they got. Really? After how many years? They only hyped it up on their social media outlets for a couple of weeks for Christ's sake.

I hate this argument. I was at the last milkshake release - it was an absolute madhouse. People stretched around the block, twice. How could the freakout have been any better? Not expecting the turnout feels like an excuse to me.

Agree completely. I thought the event was a bit of a mess.

I was happy too, even when I thought I would have got cans with the original limit. After I finally got up there and saw what was left, I don't think I would have. It makes you look like the biggest baby when you say things like Tired Hands "screwed people over" by cutting the limit, I'm glad that guy got less beer.

Drove by the Fermentaria around 1245 and the line was to the building next door. Kind of laughed and drove over to the brewery. While we didn't get any cans or get to go into the Fermentaria we did get a seat at the bar in the brewery and were able to try everything on tap there. The Slowly Rotating was awesome. And the panini was excellent as well. First time there and was impressed. Hope to get into the Fermentaria sometime!

No event of this size with a place employing that many people handling that many customers is going to please everyone. One thing I know for sure is that TH always has the interest of their customers in mind and always do their best to make as many people happy as possible. They have to make decision on the spot and sometimes it doesn't turn out the way they think it should or make one group happy, but inadvertently make another group upset. They will look at what they can improve on and do better next time, just like they have done with can releases. My suggestion is that if you were unhappy about something, send them an email. They may not respond, but they will read it. The more polite and civil an email is, the better they will take it to heart. Basic human nature. Blasting them on social media the way some people did is probably the worst approach you can take if you want real change to happen.

They have definitely been open to changing things and trying to improve constantly. They were expecting a big crowd, but this was way above and beyond the crowd that showed up to the cafe anniversary parties. I got there before 10 and saw the can line and made the decision to get in the line to get into the Fermentaria instead (best decision I made all day). I was cool they were giving out discounted coffee and free pretzels. They tried to accommodate everyone, they may have pissed off some people but that happens. I am sure they will learn what did and didn't work and look to improve like they have in the past.

Reading about the chair place holders is infuriating. I'm a hypocrite because I'm too mild-mannered to say something in person at what is supposed to be a cool fun beer event, but I would love it if someone did

I was in the Ferm line right next to that dumb group, and the one guy clearly never shotgunned a beer before and drank out of the wrong end. $5.50 worth of beer wasted all over the parking lot. Not sure any brewery would be proud to call these people "regulars."

EDIT: Don't just want to be negative here haha. That being said, despite stupid things like that... and people thinking they figured out the laws of space-time to be in two lines at once, I had a great time. All of the beers were on point, with Para6 stealing the show for me. Service was also great despite there being a gigantic mass of people in the bar area. I even got to talk to Jean and Christian at length. Such a shame to hear the political races on the moons being a mess. Sure there are things they'll probably adjust for the next event but I thought they did a wonderful job overall.
