Sixpoint Puff

    Haven't seen a thread on this new release yet. I'm pretty excited from what I've read so far. Here are some details from Tenemu:

    "Sixpoint Brewery is releasing a new beer next month that incorporates one of its most popular IPAs.

    The new beer is named Puff, a 9.8 percent ABV double IPA that uses the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based brewery’s seasonal release Resin (9.1 percent ABV) as its base. However, Puff is an unfiltered version of its popular Resin, and is also dry-hopped with a “proprietary” blend of six different strains of hops before being packaged.

    “Without filtration the aroma is going to be seriously insane,” said Sixpoint spokesman Michael Lenane in an email with Tenemu.

    According to a press release, Puff will be packaged in four-packs of 12-ounce cans and will be distributed throughout Sixpoint’s entire distribution footprint starting in May."

    I wonder if thats what they meant the other day about "details real soon"

    Very cool. Ill be on the lookout. Resin was my first DIPA. Ive just so happened to have not had an unfiltered dipa either. Sixpoint locking in beer memories.

    As Resin is my favorite beer from them, this sounds fantastic. Can't wait to try it!

    Got 2 cans of Resin as an extra in a trade. So darn yummy. Wish I was in their distro for this. Definitely something of interest.

    I've been waiting with baited breath since I saw their FB post. I wasn't a huge fan of the tweaks they made to Resin last year (even though it's still delicious) but I have a feeling those will lend themselves incredibly well to going unfiltered. Can't wait for this one.

    So, an unfiltered halfway point between Resin and Hi-Res? I wonder how unfiltered we're talking, here. Hazy, or "milkshake"-style cloudy? Either way, I'll give it a shot. Resin and Hi-Res are both very good-to-outstanding, depending on the batch. I have a hard time seeing how @Sixpoint could go very far wrong with this one.

    @fhyden @SixpointJMH @emilyrosepdx @CleanFiend think less "milkshake" and more true-to-Sixpoint-form-OG-2004 hazy and cloudy, but no chunks floating in it ;-)

    @Sixpoint sounds interesting, any Australian distro on this one?

    Still waiting for the unfiltered IPA craze to reach us here, looking forward to it as I do enjoy a cloudy brew.

    I don't know if it's just me, but the name "puff" wouldn't exactly inspire me to pick it off the shelf :wink:

    Knowing what it is, I'll certainly search it out though!

    @Sixpoint - this will certainly be one i'll seek and I'm sure will be very tasty...But i'd also like to pose a challenge. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Create a TIPA that tastes as good or better than Lagunitas Waldo's Special and at the same price point ($9.99 in some places, but $11.99 here) in a six pack (all year round) and you'll have my undivided attention as I gladly divide my money from my wallet to purchase. :grinning:
