The "3 favorite brewery taprooms" and the "Bucket List" threads inspired me to make this thread.

While the other two threads may seem similar to this thread, in reality they are all quite different from each other.

The "3 favorite brewery taprooms" thread is lists of taprooms that people picked based on various reasons, but MANY are not MUST visits, its just their favorites. For example, Modern Times and Night Shift get mentioned in that thread, while good breweries, not really must visit taprooms.

The "bucket list" thread assumes you have not been there yet.

This thread is going to be a list of breweries/taprooms that you HAVE visited and would say is a MUST visit, even if only once. Since most BA'ers are well traveled I'm sure this list will be pretty diverse. I'm really interested into the "why" are these a must visit to you. Whether its a must visit because its an iconic brewery, it has an amazing tour, the beers are out of this world, the location, whatever the reason(s). Whats your list and why are they must visits?

    My list:

    1) Cantillon - for the beer, the history, Belgium, and the tour.
    2) Sierra Nevada Fletcher - IMO all around the nicest brewery in America.
    3) Hill Farmstead - at the brewery is the best way to taste their amazing beers and the drive through Vermont countryside is amazing.

I would say (out of those I have been to):

1.) Sierra Nevada Mills River... The space/facility, outdoor patios, trails, everything. It's unreal. Beer is very good as well.

2.) Victory, Parkesburg - Much like SN above, the space is stunning... Beer quality is top notch. Fantastic lagers. This is a must-stop when in the area.

3.) Burial (Asheville) - Really unique, cool space. The bartenders were awesome and become the best stop of our Asheville tour.

    Notable mentions:
Southern Tier, Troeg's, Founder's, Jackie-O's, Hoof Hearted (Marengo on a nice summer day!) and probably Cigar City.

Yeah, surreal is a good word to describe that place. The tour is pretty amazing too and books well in advance.

Suggestion: remove "top" and make this thread just about must visits/world.
The thread has already lost any validity in just 2 responses. SN Mills River--maybe one of the top 3 in the world. Maybe. Probably not though.
I seriously doubt that any of the top 3 are going to be in the US. Observer bias wins again!

I think an easy argument can be made for the US craft pioneers. Sierra Nevada, New Belgium, Boston Beer, etc.
Some of the obscure places like Hill Farmstead probably qualify, too.
I've been to many of the classical European breweries and some of our places can offer a fun contrast.

I'd put one of the Bamberg breweries on there (choose one - all are correct) followed by a Lambic producer like Cantillon or 3F. There are plenty of places that could fit in that 3rd spot. I think New Belgium is as good as any.

yeah the title is a bit misleading but its fully explained in the first post, it IS meant to be a subjective list based on personal experience. Maybe it should have been "What are your top 3 must visit breweries in the World"

I think most people got the gist.

In any case I cant edit the title anymore.
