Will this also be brewed and canned at City brewing in Tennessee?

Probably not at 108 IBU, I think this should have a pretty different character than the new england IPAs.

Ohhhhh, dang. Totally missed that. Doesn't sound up my alley in that case, 108 IBU is way more than I generally prefer. Good to know so I don't waste time/money with it.

Yeah but you get more beery goodness from a 6pk of 12oz cans than you do from a 4pk of tallboys. A viable solution is to just pop another.

Good point. It's just personal preference, but a tallboy is the perfect size for me on a weeknight when I usually just want one beer. I get a little bit more to enjoy but don't have to crack a whole other can. On a price per ounce basis, though, they are usually more expensive.

Considering we were the first brewer in the NE to can hazy IPAs and the first nationwide to put a double IPA in this format, I think its rather clear they jumped on our train, not the other way around ;-)

We're happy we created such a great trend for others to follow though! Opened the door and enabled opportunity for many.

    cheers

Pretty sure "puff" is a cloud refernce, because the beer is cloudy and hazy in look.

@Sixpoint. Is it a marijuana reference? When I think of words like resin and puff, the weed certainly comes to mind.

yes and I'm sure the green on the can represents the famous lush gardens of Brooklyn

glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get it....and here i thought the whole time Hi-Res really meant "high resolution" :grinning:

regardless of naming conventions, i am quite excited for this....even though @Sixpoint broke my heart when they quietly killed one of my favorite stouts ever (Diesel. helped me get through the floods of Sandy.....i really liked that naming reference too )

yes of course - I've read the whole discourse on the "alternating proprietorship" at City in Memphis.
I was just curious if Sixpoint is finally going to acknowledge where the beer in the can is brewed. It seems that they are one of the few breweries, based in NY, that do not state where (like which city, state) the beer is actually brewed. Brooklyn, Southampton, even Montauk do state on the can/bottle - to name a few who do. Many people in NY still think the beer is brewed in Red Hook. I just ask for more transparency.

Lol the lush gardens. And it's not that i didn't get it, i quite like the herbals... I mean just like hi res, resin and any other term that can be applied to either (as the plants are closely related, therefore so are the descriptive terms) it doesn't neccesarily mean they were trying to reference weed or be edgy... I'm excited for it either way. Love hops and love nugs, together and alone. Cheers

@Sixpoint you know i hated sours/gose beers....the other day i was in my beer store, picked up a single can of Jammer for my wife. That shit was crazy good, completely turned me around on sour beers, went back the next day and grabbed more....think there is a lesson there for all of us. By the way C.R.E.A.M was excellent!!i will without doubt try Puff when i see it.

I'm interested in trying this. The problem is, here in Buffalo, it takes an eternity for Sixpoint to make it here. With a heavily dry-hopped beer, that extra time matters quite a bit. We just got Hi-Res here less than a month ago, which is not acceptable with a BB date in August (and Global Warmer came so late, it was immediately BOGO at my store). If I see this in a reasonable timeframe, I would love to pick up a pack. Sixpoint beers are a good value.

Right? I totally get someone not liking certain Sixpoint offerings, but that is because it isn't pedestrian, and sometimes doesn't fit neatly within a style. That's what makes trying new beers fun. I'll seek out anything new Sixpoint puts out. I know that even if I don't love it, it'll be interesting and totally worth trying. When I first tried Resin, I had never had a DIPA with such a strong, piney profile. It blew me away, but I'm sure people who prefer a citrusy or tropical IPA won't like it. It doesn't make it a bad beer, just not a beer for you.

Anyways, this sounds awesome and I can't wait to try it. Just had a discussion today with a local shop owner today about anticipating 5 beans.

I'm definitely in as soon as it shows up here. And I think the can graphics are quite attractive.
