What does your BA avatar mean?

I'm a carpenter. When I built my company's website, you selected a bunch of attributes and Yahoo spit out an avatar. This is what they thought of me. It's fairly close: if you put me into an anorexic teenager's body, and if it isn't during the winter (when I let the beard grow in).

 

Mine is a photo of a friend of mine named Jim Konya who was an avid heavy metal music fan, drummer in many underground heavy metal bands that he recorded hundreds of releases with and was lucky to tour all over the world several times over with two of his bands, and just all around one of the absolute nicest and genuine guys I've ever known in my entire life. He passed away in early October last year.

 

Its a pumpkin I carved one year for Halloween... Never been able to duplicate it quite like this one. My kids were terrified of this thing...

My avatar is a picture of my Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) pup. His name is Gus.

 

Still got several bottles of Triple Bock in the cellar... going to break one of the 94's at the 25 year mark.

 

Mine harks back to my college days when I started getting into beer... Bloom County was a go-to every morning, and Bill the Cat was easily the craziest, most unpredictable one of the bunch. If I ever get a tattoo it'll be Bill the Cat on my tush. Probably this same picture, "ACK!" and all.

Kept the same avatar since I joined. I only swapped it recently for a copy with better size and resolution. I may start going for the color variations I have seen of it, maybe not. I kinda like that blue background. Whattaya think of these?

 

Auburn Tiger, where I always wanted to go to school. I ended up not going because my mother is a college professor at another school and I was able to avoid tuition bills at all cost.

I used to have an Acid Bath album cover for an avatar, and that lasted a few years but then I figured I might as well change things up. I couldn't really decide what to change it to. One day I was watching Near Dark (probably my favorite 80s vampire movie) and Bill Pullman was being a badass so I just sorta went with it.

 

Gimli likes beer.

 

Saw mine in an outdoor bar in Aruba. It emphasizes the human connection and the art of casual conversation. Both of which seem to be lacking more and more these days.

 

It's one of my photos of the eclipse, from last September. I was cursing the clouds that showed up just as it started, then they opened here and there. I like that one better than all of of the completely clear ones, from the latter part of the eclipse. A reminder of happy accidents, where the plan that went awry was better than the original. Along the same lines as what beertunes said about missing out.
