Resin is most definitely a year round offering from us.

I wouldn't judge by that and you may still like this, higher IBUs usually have a lot of malt to balance them out and some of the highest IBU beers I have ever had were some of the lowest in bitterness; it can also depend on the hops used, the brewing process, etc.

Oh yea, totally understand that and that's why I might still give this a try. As far as high IBU beers that use malt to balance out the bitterness, I generally don't like those either, but there are always exceptions. I prefer my IPAs with lower IBUs and a light bitterness with little-to-no malt. But you don't know until you taste it, obviously, so I'll give it a go if I can find a fresh enough can, which can sometimes be an issue with Sixpoint. That's another thing - in my experience, these unfiltered, heavily dry-hopped IPAs tend to fall off much more quickly than other IPAs so I like to drink them as fresh as possible.

Other than Tired Hands, Sixpoint is the one brewery where I've consistently bought beer from at my local beer stores. I look forward to Puff until then I have some Jammer and C.R.E.A.M. to bide my time. Thank you Sixpoint!

This is epic...I can't begin to express how awesome I think a hazy dry hopped resin will be

    indeed it was!

we think you'll like this version of the formulation and process!

@dcotom the design looks better when you're holding it in your hand ;-)

Expect it to be more raw, and more juicy. Won't have that "clean, pine" flavor of the Resin but more of in-your-face rawness, the dry-hopping is 2.5x as intense.

We'll make sure to let ya'll know when it ships, that way you can enjoy it fresh. I think if you like hazy IPAs, you'll enjoy this one!

Grimm, Tree House, Trillium, Hill Farmstead. All make IPAs that more or less fit my ideal characteristics. I'm not really sure what you're getting at here though - I'll still give this beer a try if I see it fresh to see if I like it, and like to think that I avoid bias. Just purely on descriptors though, a high-IBU beer is not generally what I go for, but there are definitely exceptions (All Green Everything would be one). I'm not trying to trash this beer before I have it (or trash it at all), it's just a personal preference thing.

It definitely is going to have more flavor than bitterness. The last HPLC testing we did on the beer confirmed a lower IBU level, but that was after our last wave of recipe tweaks.

    cheers

I wasn't getting at anything, was curious about what you were into because the description you gave is not something I have come across often and wanted to see if there was something I haven't had before that I could try....and indeed everything you named, while I have heard of them, I have yet to try.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I'm excited by Sixpoint's response above that it will be lower in bitterness.

It most definitely will.... you won't get a lot of "stinging" bitterness on the front end, but you'll get a bite on the back end, but it will be balanced out with a ton of juice and aroma, let us know what you think!
