Dark Lord Day 2016

Coincidentally, while going through the line for Group B to pick up our beer snaking our way through the rows of railings, my friend and I were amazed by how many people with Group A that we passed that were rows behind us. I must have counted at least 50.

I made the mistake last year of getting in line at the North Gate. This year we did the South Gate and it took us half the time. While it looks longer, it's not. At least with the South Gate, by the time you get to the end, it actually does end; you still don't have another 15 minute wait while you snake your way through more rows behind another 200 people like you do with the North Gate.

 

I will limit my complaints to weather and a very weak taplist.

 

Got barrel aged Plead the 5th and it tasted awful at the guest taps booths.

lots and lots of rain this year. Always fun to people watch though.

 

I waited 2 hours to get in. Pretty shitty event in terms of organization

 

Heres how I know south gate was faster.

My friends and I got there together. 2 of us went to north gate. 2 went to south. South got in 1 hour earlier.

Worst year for guest taps imo.

Agreed on South Gate being faster. Things moved pretty quickly getting in once the gates opened. Group B line was long, but once it started moving, it moved quickly.

We missed both vanillas. But the other two in my group got bourbon barrel DL and I got Ronaldo.

Fucking wet mess! Had fun but glad to be home! Cheers.

 

Randomly caught DL Power Bottom on tap. Our group unanimously loved it.

 

The only good reason for vouchers was the shitty taplist that was the same at every station. I can't imagine the tap on Deesko would blow for a week if dld last that long.

 

Where in the hell was the hot sauce being sold at??

Damn that rain was real, lol. Worse than last year. Thought the taps were solid, had a white oak jai alai, double shot double black, dark lord muerte, dark lord 16, BBPT5. Agreed that some of the taps would prolly sit untouched for the entire day, oh well

 

Yeah the taps seemed pretty underwhelming. But also again spent more time in the tent sharing than outside.

All I know is I made it back without a black eye, so that's a win for me.

 

Did French Vanilla Militia ever get tapped?
