I like that the beer is super fresh. But I don't buy them for the same reason I don't make an entire pot of coffee.

IMHO, it couldn't be stated any better than this!

Growlers are a means to an end for me, nothing more.

The end being, bringing home a beer that I could not bring home by any other means.

For the privilege, I'm willing to accept the short shelf life.

However, I am a 32oz / 1liter only growler person. Full growler fills are just too much of one beer in one session for me.

Growlers suck, they are always filled improperly, with a crappy unsanitary tube and no co2 purge. You'd think with all the beer knowledge and fancy equipment Brewers use to package beer in bottles and cans they would be able to buy a measly counter pressure filler for their growler filling so they could purge and fill their growlers under pressure. Growlers are never an option for me. I get my draft, on draft, not in a poorly filled 64 oz jug that is going to stale faster than it takes to drink one. To me, growlers are a disservice to craft beer entirely. But I'm pretty picky about my beer.

I like cans / bottles better... but growlers are great for getting beers which are brewery only. In South Korea here, there are more than 20 craft breweries and only 3 of them offer can/bottles. Other breweries dont have enough money to afford the canning/bottling system since they almost cost as building one more brewery. Im hust happy I can have their beers at my home with growlers.

I prefer 32oz growlers. Most places that sell 22oz bombers for $7 will sell a 32oz growler fill of the same beer for $6.

64oz, I will fill those if going somewhere to share the beer.

I am not a huge fan of Growlers, I will partake in a growler session every once in a while. Since I work over 70 hours, it is difficult getting to a place that has a good selection. Usually I am too exhausted to drive anywhere except home.

    Bears?

    Oh, wait, that's growling...

Women? (you know they do )

Seriously though, growlers are great, unfortunately I don't have enough space in my current fridge to house one otherwise I would be all over that growler action.

The amount you pay for a growler fill of those, I can get a damn good case that will stay much more fresh, longer. 4 pints vs. 24 bottles/cans - I'm going with the case.

    looooooove growlers.

I struggle to finish 64oz growlers now since I'm trying to cut back on calories (unless it's a session IPA or pale ale), but give me a fresh 32oz growler of anything over any other vessel of it.

Mmmm, 9.00 cases of beer, yumm. Mine will be fresh enough by the end of the hour it will take to drink. If I could get any of those in bottles I would.

I see your point, sort of, but I enjoy Hill Farmstead.

I see both sides. And in practice, I side against the growler most of the time. Bottles/cans are just easier.

But nothing beats a growler full of fresh, on-tap beer.

I need to get a 32 oz. one. I've only filled my 64 oz. growler a handful of times. I'll use the smaller one a lot more often.

I love growlers. I own 10 - 64oz and 2 - 32oz. 3 or more are full at any given time. Why ? Simple, I go to brewery's often and many of their best brews are tap only. I try them at the brewery n if they are killer I fill a Growler for home.

I love growlers. It's never really a challenge for me to finish one and a 32oz seems to be an almost perfect amount of beer for me in a day. Sometimes if I can't get something canned I'll grab a growler fill of it instead, like with Carton Boat. My one issue being that a good price on a fill of that is like $8-9 which is the equivelant cost of a 4 pack cans. On the other hand when I missed Kane Morning Bell bottles at $12 a pop this year I was happy when I filled two 32oz growlers of it for $20 where an equivelant amount would have cost $36 In a bottle.

Cost aside I also just love the tap beer taste, sometimes I enjoy a beer more from a growler and I have no clue why. Tired Hands cans but I still leave with HopHands every time plus at least 2-3 more and I've brought home 8 as my highest.

I usually only like them if I am traveling and want to take fresh beer back to my campsite/hotel. Most times I prefer to have a couple different beers in a sitting.
