We don't need no stinkin' Thrillist to knock around what our nominees for best beer spots are. Let's be inclusive; beer bars, bars, bottle shops, breweries, anywhere one may purchase a brew is on the table. Maximum 3 per respondent.

Given my mixed experiences with the service there, Brouwers is still in the discussion for best in Seattle for me. I love the room, there's always a lot of things I really want to hit, and I like the food a lot. Back up here, the Archer Ale House is still a favorite, even though I don't get down there as much as I used to. And, I've been spending too much money and time at Wander Brewing since they opened. I see that continuing.

Wait, beer bars means beer bars only and not taprooms right? The inclusion of Wander has me confused.

Well, I'm just being inclusive. If it has bar I can buy beer at, good enough for me. In the mainpage thread, somebody mentioned Chucks as having as good a draft selection as Pine Box, and someone else said that a bottleshop isn't a bar. Whatever, my thread is being as inclusive as possible. If someone has a used bookstore with a great beer selection, they're eligible.

Pretty tough to narrow this down to just three places. When I lived back east, this would have been easy (Max's in bawlmore; teresa's next door and the churchkey in dc).

Hmmm.... I guess I'll go with Bailey's, assuming i get to include the upper lip. The horse brass, because I'm an old curmudgeon and I've been enjoying the divey surroundings and their huge taplist for going on 30 years now; and I guess the hotd tasting room. I've been a fan of alan sprints beers since I lived in sacto and could buy magnums of fred for 10.99 at trader joe's. Plus, his sister (Wendy) is such an awesome bartender, I'd likely go there even if the bottle and tap selection weren't typically outstanding.

That being said, ask me the same question 5 minutes from now and I'll likely come up with 3 other choices.

Chuck's CD (it is just me or is Chuck's CD ridiculously superior to the original in Greenwood?)
    Latona Pub
    Brouwers

OK, for me I'd have to narrow it down to what I consider beer bars. Adding taprooms to the list would just make it too damn difficult. Also, I'd probably narrow it down to two lists of WA only and OR only. Doing it any other way would also be too difficult for me.

    For WA I go with:
Chucks - They almost always have several things on at once that I reeeeeeally want to drink.
The Pine Box - They always seem to have a well thought out tap list. Biggest drawback for me is I hate finding parking in that area.
Toronado - This was a hard choice. Honestly, I visit breweries far more than beer bars, so this choice could have just as easily been The Stumbling Monk/Parkway Tavern/Masonry, or any number of other places. Chucks is the only beer bar I visit regularly.

    OR
My choices are pretty much limited to Portland. I think I've only even visited one beer bar outside of PDX when I've been in Oregon, and that Brother Jon's, which was excellent.
    Horse Brass
    Bailey's
    Apex

My Oregon list would probably be Platypus Pub, Baileys/Upper Lip and APEX.

I cannot speak for the rest of Cascadia, but in Seattle, I'd have to nominate Chuck's Greenwood and CD, as 1 and 2. Their taplists, for both quantity and quality, are generally hard to beat, to say nothing of their bottle inventories. As for number 3, it's more of a toss-up. I like Latona, for personal reasons, despite its limitations, but Pine Box, Brouwers, and Toronado are all worthy places, which regularly feature special beers and hold special events that move them into the upper echelons.

This is so tough.....I'll answer it like this....

Collins Pub- easy to walk to from the ferry- good food
Apex- Barley Brown versus Boneyard epic battle almost every day. I find the surliness 'cute'

Keeping it to three? That's hard. My usual haunts are: Hair of the Dog, Bailey's and Saraveza.

I know... All Portland. Doing an expedition up to Seattle in two weeks. Can't wait.

Since no one has mentioned anywhere east of the Cascades in Washington, I guess that falls to me.
    Manito Tap House
    Swamp Tavern
    (both Spokane)
    Barley's Brew Pub
    (Kennewick, Washington)
Honorable mentions to Blackbird and Pints in Spokane, both of which I don't get to enough, and Iron Goat's new pub/brewery, which will be seeing a lot of me.

My erstwhile favorite, Jones Radiator, has closed (apparently for tax issues) with no word if they'll reopen or not, otherwise they'd be one of the top 3.

Belmont station. The patio and philly food card out back are awesome. Always have great beers on tap.
Saraveza...Go Packers!!! Not a large tap selection but quality stuff also lots of bottles. The pastys are very tasty.
Bens bottle shop in Vancouver. Newer place but they have a great tap list and one of the largest bottle offerings around. Id say only belmont and johns beats them in that dept. They also have excellent food.
