I've no dog in this fight, not my style of beer to begin with. But.....It's a shame when beer releases like this turn into a competition, greedy guys gauging gf or wife's muling for beer. How about they might like the beer too, or companionship sitting on a sidewalk, they're doing nothing wrong here. I'm guessing the push for the xtras were for trade purposes, seen too much of it over the years.

The only issue I saw at the release was people jumping the line for their second helping before others even got their first. All that were there got some and some got more because they were savvy enough to get another band at the end of the line. Some were dickheads and jumped that line once they saw a opportunity. That person and his cohort was a large guy and his large wife from Ohio puffing on a vape pen the whole time who were about 14-15 in line. They were as disgusting as they acted. He got 4 allotments and she got 3. I watched them do it while I enjoyed my pour of beer. After I saw what was going on I went and got another band then waited at the end of the line and got myself another allotment without being a dick.

Well they're from Ohio. That makes sense.

Having grown up in Ohio, your gross generalization is absolutely correct. :grinning:

People that jump the line I absolutely have an issue with. I have zero issue with people getting back in line, at the back of the line, and going through again.

And yet, with all the complaining people do about this, does anyone ever call out the line jumpers or hoarders?

I'm not a fan of confrontation, but I'd be hard pressed not to call the fat piece of shit just that if I had been in line. People do things like that under the notion that no one will ever make a scene. If the majority of those in line caused a stir about it then those assholes would slink back to their proper place or leave altogether. So if you aren't going to do anything about it, you really don't have room to complain.

Yeah I don't carry a glock or a knife and I'm not a gangster plus I wanted to go ahead and get my second allotment since it was available.

A simple "hey, I think we'd all appreciate you not cutting in line" is all that's required. No one said anything about killing people. Nice jump from suggestive line policing to outright murder though.

I think that what happens is that, when people know the bottle count, as long as they know they're in the right spot to be guaranteed bottles, they won't cause commotion if they see someone who might be cutting since they're sure they won't be affected by it. Also, no matter how long Person 1 has been in line or when they got there, there's no telling if Person 2 who just got into a spot ahead of them is cutting or was there before Person 1 got in line and their friend was holding their spot (which, yes, I feel is perfectly fine). This is why I think wristbands given out several hours before bottles go on sale is the ONLY way to ensure everyone gets a fair shot. If Green Man had done that, there would be next to zero bitching going on in this thread. I think this release was handled substantially better than the last but there's still plenty of room for improvement.

Welcome to millennial hobbies; errr addictions.

Entitled and thankless. It's an odd combo giving how generous the craft beer community is as a whole.

Shockingly my lying, butt hurt, negative opinion about people going through the line more than once that created a discussion amongst employees was true. Who would of thought?

The discussion that was ensuing before I was called out for "lying" was how soon is too soon to jump back into a beer line to get seconds? As I mentioned earlier I think if you are the first person in line it is uncool to get your bottles and go directly back into the line. Is it the general belief that if you don't show up by the time the beer is released then you should accept standing behind someone that has already gone through the line? I understand that if the owner of the brewery says it is fine then no one should have a gripe about it. But in my opinion there should be a window of opportunity for late comers to still get bottles before you try to get seconds. What that window is I am unsure of.

To everyone I've ever talked to about, yes it is. Its also my firmly held belief.

So those people that chose to take a chance on possibly not getting bottles should be rewarded for strolling in whenever it was convenient for them? So if someone came walking up at 1:00 or later you think they deserve the bottles? They should have gotten their asses out of bed like everyone else. Why would they be more entitled than someone who strolls in whenever they feel like it?

@andyctree your thinking is backwards on this one! As you can see from all the other posts you are in the minority. I know several people who work at that brewery and everyone of them was thrilled that those who lined up at 5am or earlier got to walk away in most cases with a double allotment. I'm still missing what your problem is here??? What time did you show up? Are you just jealous?

Lie Lie Lie....... The employees were not unhappy about it they actually allowed it and NOBODY was called out for it. The people who went back in actually asked if it was okay.....

It is NOT wrong , the owner of the brewery chose to run the release this way.

What is your problem @andyctree ?? Green Man did a fantastic job with this release so why don't you just drop it??? All your so called opinion has done here is bring negativity to what should be remembered as one of the best beer releases done by a brewery.....

@andyctree yes I said that and was referring to a year ago. This year was handled completely different and a good time was had by all, well, except for you apparently. I still want to know what your problem with the whole thing is? What time did you show up?

I may have missed it, but did anyone hear any info at the release about if/when Maceo would be released again? Or Bootsy?
