    Although it does contain some very good tidbits of information the "Tired Hands to Can" thread is a bit overwhelming - especially for those people who have never been to the brewery before. So I thought that I would create this one in order to streamline information for all things Tired Hands in the month of May.

    Useful Links:

    * Tired Hands on instagram (can releases usually take place on Wednesday/Thursday afternoon)
    * Tired Hands brew cafe
    * Tired Hands fermentaria

    Hours of Operation: Tired Hands Brew Cafe is closed on Mondays and the Fermentaria is closed on Tuesdays

    Growler Filling Policy: "Please feel free to fill as many growlers as you would like. In Pennsylvania, each transaction must be limited to 192 fluid ounces. This means that upon receipt, if you would like to purchase more than 192 fluid ounces of our beer, you must leave the premises and then return to pick up additional beer (and then repeat the cycle if you’d like any more beer!).

    We will also be opening up for 64 oz growler fills on MOST ALL BEERS. There will, of course, continue to be a few beers that we will not do any growler fills of (one-off kegs, anniversary beers, etc.), but this should be a rare occurrence.

    We will continue to fill our branded glassware only, as we are STILL exceedingly proud to put our name on our Strange & Beautiful beer. If this is a very big issue for you, we will be happy to let you “trade-in” any growler for one of ours. Sound good?"

    Was at the Ferm this weekend, and it was awesome as usual. Carnitas tacos were killer, and Pineal on tap was sublime.

    Also, the anniversary glasses must be sold out now. I got 2 when I was there, and they told me they had like 5 or less left of each at that point.

    Tired Hands / Jester King Cloudfeeder

    [IMG]

    We’re pleased to introduce Cloudfeeder — our collaboration with Tired Hands Brewing Company in Ardmore, Pennsylvania! Cloudfeeder is a farmhouse ale fermented with Pennsylvania honey, Texas grapefruit, Texas limes, and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops. It was brewed at Jester King with Tired hands in preparation for the upcoming Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) in Philadelphia.

    For Cloudfeeder, our intent was to create a low alcohol, highly drinkable beer, that when fresh, would exhibit characteristics similar to American India Pale Ale. When working with our mixed culture of brewers yeast and native yeast and bacteria, our beer presents relatively clean when it’s young, especially if we brew it with a fair amount of hops. As we’ve pointed out before, farmhouse ales were historically either very bitter or sour. On occasion, as we did with Cloudfeeder, we use a combination of hops, fairly high fermentation temperature (78F), and the absence of long-term aging, to create a beer that’s bitter and not particularly sour/tart — at least not yet. Time, temperature, and hops are the levers by which we aim to balance the acidity in our beer, all the while knowing that the microorganisms will ultimately “decide” the character of the beer.

    Cloudfeeder was brewed on March 21, 2016 at Jester King with Hill Country well water, malted barely, malted spelt, oats and hops. It was fermented with our mixed culture of brewers yeast and native yeast and bacteria harvested from the land and air around our brewery. It was then refermented with Pennsylvania honey and zest and juice from Texas limes and grapefruits, and dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Simcoe hops. Cloudfeeder was packaged on April 11, 2016 and 100% naturally conditioned in bottles, kegs, and casks. At the time of packaging, the beer was 3.8% alcohol by volume, 4.2 pH, 51IBU, and had a gravity of 1.001 (0.25 degrees Plato).

    The art for Cloudfeeder was created by Jester King’s Josh Cockrell in collaboration with Jean Broillet IV of Tired Hands. The beer will be released by the glass on draught at Jester King on Friday, April 29th at 4pm. It will also be available on draught at various bars in Philadelphia during the CBC. Shortly following CBC, bottles of Cloudfeeder will be released at Jester King.

    Really looking forward to this. Bottles of this will only be releasing in Texas but at least we will get kegs up here.

    Probably not a stretch to think this will be on tap Thursday at Martha for the CBC event with Jester King, Tired Hands and Grren Bench.

    Undortunately I didn't get to meet any BA's but had a great coversation with a local gal for a couple hours, had the cauliflower tacos, was able to try a few different beers and buy some bottles to take home. Very nice experience overall.

    I really, really dig the fact that they offer different sized pours. I hate having to commit to one pint when there is so much to try. Pretty solid beers all around.

    Typically, Ill go nuts on 4oz pours and try the whole menu. Its really the best way to do it. Glad you enjoyed yourself! Did you leave with any growlers or bottles?

    I may go down Saturday and volunteer for a few hours pending my work schedule. It would be my first CBC and it looks like a great time.

    I hate asking the bartenders for a bunch of small pours but since I had to drive I stuck to a full pint of pineal. 3-4 oz samples of ceiling, 06277 and station. Finished up with a pint of baby face.

    They had two different beers to go. I bought 3 of each. I'll probably save 2 for myself and share/give away the rest. They didn't have samples so I hope they're good. I think one was ourison, can't recall what the other was but figured it would be pretty good based on everything else I tried.

    Ourision is a great table saison and VERY consistant batch to batch. I can only assume the other 2 bottles you grabbed were the ones offered at the Anniversary party which were Para 47 and Shambolic. Im really trying to get down there Thursday or Friday this week to try some new offerings.

    There were only two variationsleft, Ourision being one and Shambolic sounds right for the other. They're in my car so I can't check right now. I'm not even sure I can fit anymore in my luggage but I'll keep my eye on this thread in case they release cans. The other problem is I can only pick them up tomorrow or Wed and I'd be pushing the time limit if theres any left.

    Regardless, no biggy. I just enjoy drinking good beer and shootin' the shit, I don't need the latest greatest limited trade bait or whatever the flavor of the week is.

    Unofficially of course, but with no incentive to release bottles when cans are profiting so much, TH has not released a bottle in quite some time and it just does not feel like they will soon. Also i said this in particular now with the news of bottles being released only in texas but not here, but there could be logistics reasons for that I guess. Now before the ferm opened this was fairly common, except the second batch emptiness were released pretty close to each other if i remember right. However the ferm is open now, and nonewbottles have been out for a couple months (two and a half).

    True, theres nothing technically wrong with this, as theres no requirement that they have to release bottles frequently, nor would such an expectation be normal given the type of beer that is bottled. The string of a bottle release every 3-4 weeks could have just been a fluke I guess.

    It has been far to long since a bottle release but I thought they planned on releasing Para 6 and 7 fairly soon?
