Well I have woken up with a stinking hangover from drinking too much wine last night - I should have drunk beer I suppose  But today I am brewing a hoppy munich based beer. I was going to use the yeast from my last batch, WY1332, but I am less than impressed with the beer it made (although its only been in the bottle a week) so I will go back to us05 for this one. Always handy to have some stashed away.

How about you, any plans to brew this bank holiday?

About 15 minutes left in my mash this morning. Brewing an IPA with 8 oz Simcoe, 3 oz Citra, and 2 oz Chinook hops, mostly WP and dry hops along with small charges at 15/10/5. High hopes for this one.

Try to save me at least a pour of that

I'll be kegging my Rye Scotch Ale next weekend, and possibly brewing. The wife is gone this weekend, and will be gone again in 2 weeks. May is not looking like a productive month for me.

Was expecting blowoff this morning from my imperial stout brewed yeasterday but low ferm temps are keeping it relaxed. By tomorrow morning it should be blowing up. I was a gallon over volume so I removed a gallon of wort and boiled it down to a syrup that everyone agreed would be awesome on ice cream. Then added the syrup back to the boil. Anyone try this before? Curious if it adds anything besides gravity to the final product. Came out at 1.092 which wasn't as high as I was hoping but should be super tasty.

Helped my father-in-law bottle up his half of a 10 gallon batch of blonde ale. I kegged my half on Thursday and it tastes absolutely amazing!! Very nice honey aromas and the lactose does this beer well @Brew_Betty . I also bottled my first batch in over 15 months! Bottled 5 gallons of a stronnnnnngggg Belgian dubbel. Borderline trippel. Brewing up 10 gallons next Saturday of my awesome Belgian blonde with strawberries. Going to do a split batch of wlp565 and wlp550. Not going to kill my saison yeast this time!!!

Brewed up a saison today. Six hours after pitching it already was aggressively fermenting and had an inch of krausen.

Lack of malt flavours and slightly tart. But like I say, only been in the bottle for a week and of course it could well be my fault too.

Incidentally shit got in the way yesterday so I am brewing today instead.

Brewed a Bells Two Hearted Clone this weekend in between gigs and moving!

Brew buddy picked up a stir plate and we made our first starter for this brew. Man was that thing amazing, and it totally pissed off our yeast in the absolute best possible way.

Recipe is written down in the brew bible but don't know our partial mash off the top of my head. Some crystal malt 40 and one other important parameter. Lots of centennial hops - we are using 3.5 oz in dry hopping. WLP051 California V.

That being said - We are only just above 5 gallons in primary - Anyone have any tips to be as efficient as possible with the dry hopping? I don't want to loose .5 gallons :/

I'm thinking possibly a session IPA or a SMaSH IPA for the beach in July.

brewed an all citra pale ale yesterday. used the northern brewer "zombie dirt" recipe as a guide. replaced the LME with DME. can't wait to see how this one turns out.

next up, a citra and nelson pale ale using the same recipe.

Tasting a sample of a Belgian Dubbel that I put in a wine barrel tonight. It will probably be the last clean beer that I do in that barrel, but it plans to be mighty tasty. I'm glad I made five extra clean gallons of beer to drink while I'm waiting for the rest to age.

Racked a dark saison onto red wine soaked oak cubes and 2 lbs of zante currants, along with dregs from another sour – CS Colorado wild sage. Slapped an 'April' date on the carboy, and I don't plan on even sampling this one til the fall.

In case you were wondering, it's based off @OldSock 's dark winter saison recipe, but I added the dregs from 2 sours along with the brett from the WLP670. Airlock is smelling wonderful.

Trying to decide what to brew for May. Perhaps a saison or a rhubarb wheat.

An attempt at a Brookyn Sorachi Ace clone. Ignore the cold break in there. The color is perfect, but we will see about the flavor.
