Dark Lord Day 2016

I can't imagine downing a full bottle of VBDL. I would probably max out at about 5-6oz.

Also, 15 Prop should include an insulin pen, just in case you want the whole thing.

 

These damn craft beers are causing the diabeetus to spread!

 

Hey man I had to do it lol.. I had only tried Dark Lord once and this was my first time at the event. I personally enjoy the beer quite a bit so I drank it every time it was available on tap. '16 needs to sit for a while though. '14 was my favorite followed by '13 and '15. I wanted to make sure I got my fill so that way I wouldn't be tempted to crack a bottle too soon. Just wanted to get a good feel for the beer so that I could feel better about letting them sit in the closet.

'16 was my least favorite flavor of the vintages I tried but I'm sure that's due to the freshness. From what I've read, people seem to think '16 is one of the better fresh ones that has come out lately. Even a year on this beer does wonders

 

If the sweetness subsides, I can definitely see that. '16 is delicious; just too damn sweet.

 

Ha, that's me in the powder blue rain suit. That dude was camped out at that trash can for what seemed like most of the afternoon.

 

You could have at least offered him your belt!!!

 

Anyone grab shirts? I picked these up. Love them all. I'm not a historian so who can figure out the significance of giving Abe Lincoln the gun and reversing roles? Could have just used Lee Harvey and swit ched out Lincoln for Gumballhead

 

Looks like a guy who could really use a belt...

 

FWIW, a couple up these just popped up on their website for purchase.

 

I got a shirt, L, and it fits like a small....I did not see that 20th year shirt when I looked. I would have gotten that for sure.

 

The shirts are a little tight fitting. I have multiple Floyds shirts from before and these are the first bunch that have that snug fit to them. Different and softer material too.

The 20 Years shirt was at a small Drink Indiana booth near the south entrance. It was the first thing I saw when I entered the festival

 

I tried to swap it at the brew pub but they said email Hollie...which I did. Came thru north why I probably didn't see it.

some employees were wearing cool hoodies on Friday and was hoping for one of those, but I didn't see it

 

Question is, when does that axe bottle-opener (that I didn't know I needed) go up on the site?

 

The employees weren't wearing hoodies they were wearing North Face style jackets with the 20th Anniversary logo where it would say North Face. It had a huge graphic on the back I think the same image from the Black Hole Necromancer bottles and it said Dark Lord Day 2016 at the bottom. They were really cool.

 

ah yes you're right now that I think about it! We will never see those

 

I would buy the shit out of a "consumer" version of this that replaces the DLD 2016 graphic on the back with the upside down American Flag 20th Anniversary logo.

 

I bought one of those DLD shirts with the thing dressed up in the space suit and the flag on the back. I thought that one was pretty cool. I had it on this morning and my 5 year old said "scary".

 

My 3 year old asks me if Dark Lord Day is scary. And I say "Not in the ways you would think".

 

Forgot to mention in last post:
I really hope Andrew (?) from Austin found a way back to TX! Somehow he ended up in our car when we were leaving, then joined another buddy and I for dinner and a pitcher once we got back to the city. Good guy! Was a bit worried about him getting home though!
