The beer equivalent of Christmas

    I was just thinking how cool it would be to have a beer equivalent of Christmas day - something like Brewmas day. Which day would it be?

    Also Christmas has Santa Claus, what would Brewmas have instead?
    Father Brewmas with a trendy long brown beard, wearing a flat cap and sporting tattoos of hops on one arm and malts on the other is what I pictured.

    Also what about those traditional things they do at Christmas?
    Like instead of decorating a Christmas tree it's a hops tree, instead of leaving cookies and milk for Santa we leave a slice of Guinness pie and a Milk Stout for Father Brewmus.

    Beer carols? Yes please.

    Come on people, let's spread the brewmas cheer and make my fevered dreams a reality!

    PS: I am aware Oktoberfest is a sort of defacto beer Christmas I'm just having a bit of fun.

    Father Brewmas comes 4 times a year, corresponding with the four seasons -- err, seasonals.

    St. Arnold of Soissons is the patron saint of hops pickers and Belgian brewers. His feast day is August 14. Seems like a good choice to me.

    Father Brewmas! Ha! I think we should nominate a different BA member every year to be Father Brewmas. Somebody who is a "BA All-Star" and who might be a bit Santa Clausesque. Since I know virtually no one on BA personally, I'll nominate @TongoRad since he is very active on BA, seems like a reasonable person, has apparently been on BA forever, and his avatar looks like a skinny drunk Santa.

    Also, I'll vote for April 21st, the day after the weed-smoker's day. It just makes sense that they go together.

    We could work our way down the BA All-Star list right down to the newest member until eveyone has had a go, then we can go back to the top of the list again.

    What would the costume for Father Brewmas be though?

    I was thinking modern Irish clothing - flat cap, green Adidas track suit - because everyone knows the Irish can put it away... although the Czechs are the biggest per captia beer drinkers in the world - so maybe something Czech traditional?
