According to some industry Instagram shots they hosted a soft opening today for friends. Someone also posted public opening date of May 14th.

One step closer to getting bottles...

Having not followed the up-and-down hype train at all, I for one am looking forward to visiting. Looks like a cool spot with some good beers.

Me too, but they're not making it easy. Doesn't sound as if even the 5/14 start date is a certainty, and 6 hours a week isn't much of a window to visit.

Still, I'm hoping to be up that way over the memorial day weekend, so hopefully can stop by to visit.

I think you'll have to try for Saturday the 21st instead, since the article posted above by @JouerAvecLeFeu states that W&P "will operate one day a week, with Saturday 2-8pm hours for now."

    Just got this e-mail:

Welcome! Our main doors were made from wood salvaged from the original Rainier Brewery, constructed in 1884.
We made it! After over two decades of dreaming and planning and two straight years of building out, we’re opening the doors at Wolves & People! We’re beyond excited to start pouring our wild and farmhouse beers for you all and know you’re ready, too. Thanks for all your support, enthusiasm, and patience. The little tasting room is coming together, and we have 16 picnic tables with umbrellas for shade and shelter. Here’s what to expect this weekend, rain or shine...

Our new signature glass will be available for $10/each.
Beginning this Saturday, May 14th, will be tapping six to eight beers by the glass each Saturday from 2-8pm, beers subject to change as supplies last. In the coming month we’re planning to unveil the following on draft: a dry-hopped grisette, biere de garde, Belgian pale ale, assorted traditional and experimental saisons, wild ales, strong ales, a wild-ale/lager hybrid, an old ale, a wild farmhouse witbier, even a stout or two. What you taste in our tasting room may be a one-time beer, here today, gone tomorrow.

A few notes that will make opening day and other coming events go well:

    • Rain or shine. Dress appropriately. The beer garden is gravel.
    • No minors whatsoever. Your ID will be checked. Please bring a valid driver’s license.
    • No dogs or other pets allowed. Pets can be left in cars with windows wide open only.
    • Please carpool. We have limited parking. Bring a designated driver for your group.
    • Draft pours only currently. No growlers will be filled. No bottles are for sale yet (coming soon!). Of course, we have no barrel-aged beer for sale yet.
    • Please do not park on Benjamin Road. You will be towed as this creates a safety hazard. If overflow parking is also full, please consider coming back another time. We’ll do our best to accommodate everyone! Please drive slowly and carefully on our narrow country road.
    • Please do not wander around or park off the gravel in any part of the orchard or on neighbors’ property. This is a working farm. There are new tree plantings as well as holes, trenches, and other hazards. Please do not smoke or litter.
    • Please respect fellow beer lovers, hosts, neighbors, and volunteers.
    • Stay hydrated. We will have water stations and encourage you to chug our pristine well water. We make our beer with it!
    • Consider a great meal before or after your visit at Ruddick/Wood, Storr’s Barbecue, or Recipein Newberg, and Red Hills Market in Dundee.
    • Cash is strongly preferred. All 12oz pours will be $5 for opening day, and may change later. Custom decorated glasses will be available for $10 each or two tickets (while supplies last).
    • Official tee shirts, hats, stickers, and patches will be available for sale, while supplies last.
    • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. No limos, stretch numbers, or buses due to our narrow driveway. Always drink responsibly.
    • You’re extra cool if you bike to the brewery! We’ll find a place to lock it up.
    • Most of all, have fun!
That should do it. We are really looking forward to seeing you. Look for our May & June events calendar in a separate email shortly, and online. Thanks and see you soon! W&P

I will definitely find my way out there before year's end. They're gonna produce some great stuff.

I would have guessed just the opposite. At least as of a couple weeks ago, there's no sign on Hiway 99 for the tasting room, so I don't think anyone is going to just casually drop in for a glass of beer. I'm not aware of any wineries up that way on Benjamin, and in fact, other than the brewery and tasting room, I'm not sure there's much of anything up that way.

Depending on traffic, it can be close to an hour to get out there from downtown Portland. That's certainly doable, but I have to wonder how many folks are really going to want to make that long a trip out to the tasting room, especially as none of the "highly anticipated" barrel aged beers are available yet.

The GF and I like to tour some of the winery open house events over the Memorial Day weekend, so we'll probably stop by on Saturday, if it fits into our schedule. I'm curious to see what their beers are like of course, but visiting W&P doesn't strike me as any sort of priority. At least not at this point.

But this is the most anticipated brewery opening of 2015! People are already declaring that they're going to produce great stuff! Last-minute rearrangement of conference plans! Opening day! Bragging rights! $10 glassware! Limited parking! FOMO! FOMO!

tl;dr: @crusian is probably right: They're going to be plenty busy on Saturday.
