Try the Two Roads Beer Bus variety pack, it's pretty solid

Doubt the latter two would be considered 'summer beers', but a variety pack of The Crisp, Sweet Action, Brownstone and Righteous Ale would make my, well, life.

Upslope is great with a rotating seasonal, Folly pack from NB has throwback beers, both are reasonably priced. I like Left Hand's Mixer, although they often have Polestar Porter and Milk Stout, would rather they put a true IPA in the mixer. I wish OB's mixer would substitute out Mama's or Chub.

Resin or high-res, sweet action, jammer, and maybe a new seasonal like a IPL, or tropical/ citrus pale ale

SN is standard, I get Stones now and then but they are rather pricy. The mixed 12er I had once that I'd LOVE to have again was Great Divide 'Big Show', which had high gravity beers like Yeti, etc. I had that while visiting Colorado, they don't have distribution in California.

I like the idea of variety packs, but I have had issues with freshness. I bought a Fort Collins Brewery variety pack over the summer and Sierra Nevada's Fall Pack a few months ago. Both were full of very old beers. The problem is that you can't see any dates on the outside of the box.

I love mix packs. Some light, some dark, some dank, some sticky. A little bit of everything for everyone or every situation. Of course, mix packs are a mixed bag. A lot of the times they come with that one beer or style of beer that you know will be left when you drink the rest.

A particular spring/summer favorite of mine currently in the New Belgium Folly Pack. It has the Tripel, Fat Tire, Ranger, and Citradelic. Four beers that are all good for summer sipping. Also partial to the sculpin variety pack from Ballast Point.

Does anyone else have any go to favorites for this time of year or a mix pack that is one beer away from being perfect?

I like Oskar Blues for camping, boating, etc. In cans, so it's convenient. And a nice spread of styles. Pinner and Yella Pils for being out in the sun, and dale's and old chub for later at night.

For all around taste though, Ithaca Box of Hops does the job.

GLBC's seasonal variety packs always seem to be on point with the selections. Saw a Brew Kettle one a few days ago during my last haul that looks worth checking out also.

I just picked up Sam Adams Summer Collection. There are a few in there I haven't tried.

The newest Euro box from Urban Chestnut is gonna have me going back for thirds here shortly. It has two pint bottles each of De Bockle, Geiles Bier, Wittewijven and Mercator. All pretty great beers from their catalog. Normally, as the OP pointed out, there's usually at least one beer in a variety pack that doesn't cut it, but I'm pretty happy with all in this one.
