    Good morning! Trying something new - Clown Shoes' Hephaestus (blacksmith of the gods) an RIS aged in bourbon barrels with espresso:

    Plenty of roast coffee and semi sweet toffee; bourbon and oak right behind. Slight warming from the boozy 12.5% finish. This coffee stout is hitting all cylinders for me this morning.

    Doing a side by side with regular and oak aged Abt 12. Cooler temps saw the regular as a favorite among our group, but the oak age just came alive after it warmed up a bit.

    Couldn't post last night (server down?) but one last hajj/pilgrimage to Half Acre: Daisy Cutter, Space, Vallejo, then to the Long Room for a great little burger and FFF Alpha King and a new one, Maplewood Juice Pants (pretty interesting).

    Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast

    Mildly hazy honey amber appearance with fine bubble beaded head and good lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, spicy hops and a touch of earthiness. Striking in a pleasant way. Taste is full, spicy, and caramely with a hoppy rye punch. Pleasant and lasting through the finish which is malty and hoppy in about equal measure. I don't notice any of the alcohol mentioned by other reviewers and at 9% ABV it's hardly a blockbuster.

    A beast of an Imperial Rye Ale which should appeal to those who want a heavy textured full flavored ale. Not stout like, not ale like, something in between and unique.
