So, @grilledsquid youre inferring that superiority quality and a line are mutually exclusive?

This would wrong. Straight and simple. Quality is indicative of the product being put out. A line, does not have anything to do with the product.

    Surely, you can understand that.

As for service. There were zero hiccups what so ever.

They're making what they can make with the limited space and production capabilities they have. They have double production and have double product on one of the cans. But hey, surely a man of your stature would understand the nature of business.

Long lines are indicative of value of product and what the consumers wants. As a business man, let that sink in. If you cannot let that sink in then you will surely see the demise/slowing of a business.

Opinions do not matter. Sales, trends, forecasts and bottom lines do.

Your logic is this: If the quality of a product is high, then a queue (to buy said product) will form. This is clearly false as evidenced by my examples above. There are times when a high quality product does draw a queue, but there are also times when a high quality product doesn't. A line can be attributed to many things including quality, but that's rarely ever the sole factor.

You mean like your opinion that Monkish IPAs are better than OH?

In this case, it is clear that quality of product by stats on untapped(regardless of SoCal bias) have shown that they have been the premier IPA within the region.

You're right, my opinion of "OH IPAs are not as good as monkish" is simply a falicy. I claim this on the basis of personal opinion. Surely I can run statistics on SPSS, IBM software ect. To further validate my statement. But to do that is simply a waste of my time as my opinion will not make a significant difference, on this forum at least.

The monkish cans release survival guide:

-get there early ( as early as 8:30am-9am)
-park in the lot, on western ave or del amo Blvd.
    -bring chairs , sunblock, water.
    -get wristband -NEW
-get a breakfast burrito from the cafe in the corner while in line , and maybe some coffee.
-45 minutes before they open, put your chair back in your car
-once they open, if you are in the middle of the line, get a pour of the beers at the tasting room. ( Ask dude in the back to watch your spot)
-go back in line, get your 4 packs.
-after you get your beers , either get more pours or leave happy

This has been going on at OH a year ago. And the lines are at 4 hours long these days.

thought I was going to have to work (otherwise would have gone to Bruery a anny party) and had it off unexpectedly. Decided to break my my no lines rule to check this out, as I've been curious about these beers. Got there at 10. A friend joined me around 11. Was not that painful. Met some cool people in line. stopped by Smog City afterwards. Had yakitori. Was a good afternoon

Beers are tasting amazing. Can't wait to send some to my friend in mass who has generously sent me a ton of Treehouse stuff

side note: finally tried Fantastic Cafe for breakfast burrito. Not bad

Arriving at 830 is pretty early since those who arrived later were able to get some.

Had both of the new release cans tonight and I have to agree while they aren't to the level of tree house (yet), they still are leaps beyond many IPAs available here in Southern California. Can't wait to see what Monkish creates in the future. Hype train coming through

I agree with this. The long lines are due to brand power. And it appears Monkish has reached a certain threshold of that power due to their East Coast IPA strategy.

No worries for us though, fellow BA's. The rest of the market won't let Monkish hoard all the fun to themselves much longer.

BTW, I'm craving Pink's chili dog and onion rings pretty hard right now.

I remember talking about Monkish when I was in line for VR. I said they were supposed to make some BA sours and spontaneous fermentation beers. And nobody cared. "I guess you like them cuz you like belgian beers, blah blah" Fuck them cuz I saw some of those bastards in line today.

Those bandwagon brewery hoppers! don't they know they need to blindly support any brewery based on what they say they're going to do and before it's cool?

better hedge your bets and jump on that Iron Triangle train now so you can say you were on the ground floor when everyone else wrote them off when they make those sticky icky double ipa's and creamy cream ales...

Nah, IT sucks. Monkish had good beer before the hype. Dont compare IT to Monkish.

i think you're missing the point there. Just because you tell someone that a brewery who once had a stance against doing IPA's is going to not only do them, but also going to jump in to the realm of east coast cloudy versions of them... doesn't means that their skepticism isn't warranted until they actually taste the product.

You;re acting as if this is some indie band you discovered and are now annoyed that more people are fans of what was once your little gem.

Yeah but your talking to southbay folks that trade for HF saisons but dont bother trying local saisons that have good complexity and a soft mouthfeel. Then is like...

So random question, if I go to the taproom today is there any chance that the IPA's are on draft?
