Happy Sunday! Not as nice as yesterday, but still nice enough to chase a golf ball around the course.

Good morning BA, hope everyone enjoys their Sunday!

My go-to hoppy American brown ale. Fantastic stuff. Flavors of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toast, dark bread, molasses, and light dark fruit; with medium herbal/grassy/pine hop flavors. Moderate pine/grassy bitterness, with a great balance of hop/malt flavors; with a moderately creamy/silky and smooth mouthfeel; with some hop stickiness as well. Light-moderate dryness. Always love it.

Always fantastic IPA, been buying this more often lately. Bright hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with some light honey/biscuity malt balance and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind bitterness; sticky/resinous finish with slight malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Good dryness with zero hop astringency. A true IPA classic, fantastic Centennial/Chinook hop character.

This is tasting insane! Huge flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, molasses, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light licorice/raisin, and light smoke/char. Balanced bittersweet roast/char finish with some spicy bourbon/oak against sweetness; light-medium carbonation and full bodied creamy/silky rich mouthfeel. Very smooth sipping with lightly warming alcohol. Really glad I decided to revisit this a few months ago. My original review opinion in 2013 was less than the base beer; but now I feel it blows the base beer out of the water. Glad this is really easy to get along with Wulver, albeit at a significant price; but completely worth it to me.

My last 2011 BB4D. Still one of the top 5 beers I’ve ever had. Huge flavors of caramel, toffee, toasted marshmallow, coconut, maple syrup, molasses, raisin, plum, fig, date, brown sugar, vanilla, bourbon, oak, dark bread, light cocoa, and leather/tobacco. Minimal bitterness with some bourbon/oak spiciness; with a full bodied creamy/silky/slick finish; mildly warming ABV for 13.5%. Minimal carbonation. Insanely smooth sipper. With Kuhnhenn expanding their production operations soon, regular 4D should become much more readily available, which will be amazing. Even if that becomes a fact, and this is still Brewery only release, I’d be OK with that.

    Cheers

Good morning BAs. Cloudy, currently 37 degrees and staying in the 40s all day. WTF? I'll be making a further dent in the "to-watch" movie pile today. There's a bunch of good ones to pick from. Beerwise, starting things off with an Expedition Stout. It's especially good for this chilly weather!

    Stay cool (or warm) BAs...

Good morning BAs! Through the overcast and cold this morning comes the cry of the Kiki bird - Ki-Ki-Krist it's cold! Summer in NW PA, basically like summer in MI. I came home a week early - if I'm going to be cold and miserable, I might as well be at home where I can get something accomplished inside. Today's cross-post with NBS:

Good morning all. After yesterday's deluge, more rain is forecast today. Looks like another indoors kinda day.

Starting with another new to me Texas brew - 'Sunday Morning Coming Down' by Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling, San Antonio, TX:

Described as a British Strong Ale with Coffee. I'm having a hard time finding the coffee...more musings to come on NBS. Have a great Sunday, y'all!

Happy Sunday. Small share last night with two buds (also our respective families and kiddos--the latter just screamed indiscriminately, and did not partake in beers).

Started with some newly arrived Rare Barrel:

Could've drank this all day, especially if we had about ten more degrees outside. Another RB, again with the Bordeaux barrels:

Before switching gears into a different style:

And finally landing on an easy drinking oatmeal stout:

Morning All! Dropping in after a while off the boards. A chilly morning after a hectic week and another busy one ahead deserves a coffee break, and this beer needed opening.

This tastes almost exactly like a mocha, sweet like chocolate but with bitter acidity from the coffee.

Stone Roses put a new song out this week but this beer reminds me of an old classic...

    Have a great Sunday BAs
