From Prost. Former Future received the same visit.

"Just a heads up: the Denver health department stopped by the other day and said that we are no longer allowed to have dogs inside! Don't worry guys, the patio is still fine (just in time for summer). I was talking with a customer, and he said that the same has apparently happened to other breweries over the past few days. Be sure to check in with your local brewery before bringing your dog, and don't be too upset with your server if they ask you to stay outside with them!"

No, but I have absolutely no desire to deal with other people's dogs in a brewery (or Target, or Whole Foods, or any of the other places the insane dog people in this city bring their dogs). Leave your pets at home.

I wonder why that is if they don't serve food.

As far as I knew, you've never been legally allowed to have your dog inside the brewery in Denver City Limits. And, also, if it's the patio of a place that makes and sells food, as well, then the dog is not even allowed on the patio.
As far as taking dogs to a brewery in the first place... I'll take that any day over the folks who bring their infants and let them crawl around on the bar and tabletops in their nasty fkkng diapers.

Agreed. I understand restaurant patios not allowing dogs but I guess I don't see the big deal with breweries. The fact that dogs are being banned but kids are allowed is crazy.

Like everything, it's the 10% of dumbasses that make it miserable for everyone.
You know the ones. They think their dog needs to "meet" every other dog in the place and act shocked when a loud ass dog melee starts over and over.

Honestly though, are there any breweries explicitly anti-kid? If so I'd like to hang out there more often.

I'm a dog person and, coincidentally, I have a dog (an extremely well behaved one). That said, I'd never bring her to a brewery/bar. I know there are people who aren't fond of dogs, and wouldn't subject them to getting tangled in leashes and dog hair in their beer...

I'm an infant person and, coincidentally, I have a few. But they sit in a chair with an iPad (before you go bashing me for, "you shouldn't raise your kid on a portable screen!", it's for the benefit of people like @chango, so shut up and be appreciative :grinning: ). If they start whining or wandering around, it's chug chug chug the beer, pay, and gone (and pray it wasn't some massive BA Avery brew I just killed my liver with) for the benefit of other patrons.

I don't have a dog and I don't have a kid. I like both. I avoid breweries that allow dogs and I love breweries that promote a family vibe. Go figure, eh?

I don't think dogs or kids are an issue. It just comes down to irresponsible owners/parents. In Germany, both are allowed in nearly every beer serving establishment I've been into. There are no issues 99% of the time. The one time I encountered some people with a dog causing issues, the staff (the fish smoking dude) came over and full-on told them to get out of dodge. In every other instance, dogs just hang out under the table and you'd never know they were there. No taking them around to instiga...I mean meet other dogs or have them pee all over everything. It works out just fine.

Ditto with kids. Most biergartens have a little amusement area for kids to play at. A lot of places here have board games and coloring books and such. Never had any issues with children here to be pretty honest. Station 26 used to have 15 kids to every adult which was a bit on the rude side, but it's not like the kids were doing anything wrong.

I just feel sorry for the dogs. Instead of sitting on a rug or couch at home (or in the backyard), they're dragged somewhere with lots of people and made to sit on concrete. Either don't go to the brewery or don't have a dog.

I will say my late lab loved stretching out on cool concrete floors. But he passed back in 2009, before the onset of the take-your-dog-to-the-neighborhood-brewery-and-everywhere-else craze.

    TRUTH.
Kitty (see avatar) is very well-behaved, friendly as hell, and grew up on the Prost and DBC patios. We keep her closely to us and let folks come and say hi and everything's great. UNLESS... folks come over with their dog and let it get up in Kitty's face. DOGS ON LEASHES DON'T "MEET" WELL! Two dogs who are best buddies at the off-leash dog park will often go for each other's throat on a leash. It's a protective thing. Time and time again, somebody'll come up with their pitty or husky mix and let them get right up in Kitty's face and things go south from there.
Just as with screaming kids running around the brewery with no supervision, I blame the parents, not the dogs/kids.
