Morning, BA's, and happy Booknotes and Beers Day as well - edition #12 (and final one, I believe)

Many thanks to @LeperJim for hosting this fun monthly event over the past year.....nicely done!!

Some of you may know of my love for the works of Henry D. Thoreau.....two of the most influential books in my life are listed below.....his seminal Walden (I have a treasured 2nd edition, published the year of his death in 1862) and the beautiful coffee table book, "In Wildness is the Preservation of the World" - which pairs the amazing nature photography of Eliot Porter with Thoreau's words....first read that and Walden at age 12, and they both changed my life!

I even built a tiny cabin replica, and have been to Walden Pond in Concord MA many times

Because the previous WBAYDN ended on a country music tone, I might as well continue !

Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. I just got back from the zoo with my wife and kids (watching a one year old seeing those animals for the first time is even more fun then looking at the animals) and am enjoying the peace and quiet of my back yard with this one.

Nicely stated and presented! It’s amazing how a book can sometimes set the stage for your entire life.
(A great beer can do the same perhaps!?)

Probably my favorite swedish craft brewery by this point. They're doing great stuff with wild yeast strains.

I have read too many books to say I have a favorite or a favorite author even. I suppose it's the same with anything even colors. You can't ever really make a choice like that. Not one that lasts anyway. I hope you won't think me vain but my favorite books have always been my own and I read them. I have been keeping a journal for a long time and although it is in so many parts, you can't go anywhere in my house without finding one or two. For the most part I think you can say a good life has no plot. To be without circumstances - to be so average. That is to be gained by the rest of my life. Once upon a time, in a book I read a line by Sinclair Lewis that became the model for my life. "I make enough money for a stake and then I sit around by myself, and shake hands with myself, and have a smoke, and read history, and I don't contribute to the wealth . . . "

On any given day, I like to sit in a cafe with my journal. It makes me feel prominent and as though my sense of history and principles includes me. And I like to not really "do" anything.

However, I do have an ultimate plan. My plan is to disappear someday like an odd black carnival magician. Throw down the black powder and POOF!

Thanks to beer, all of you and BA, I have expanded my journals to the internet. And I have a new one all ready to go. I liked booknotes and beers. Today we make-a the pasta noodles! Cheers!

No books, just beer. It's a pleasure to read everyone's post though. Cheers all! In a way, I guess you could say that I am reading a book, that is if you count BA as one...

This one's drinking just fine after sitting in the fridge for almost a year. Very lively still.
