Daily is fine, but I like the places though that disclose "what's on deck" so I know what is waiting in line behind any kegs that kick.

I have yet to find a place that keeps it up to date, it usually gets updated a week or so after the beers I want to try or buy. So I do not value it at all.

I wish the other South Florida breweries would copy Funky Buddah's Currently on Tape page.

it's advantageous for businesses to pay for a beermenus subscription. even with all the redesign snafu's it's still the best online resource to find what you are looking for.

the updates are instantaneous and mirror the businesses own website taplist, or retail store inventory.

You could just go out and drink something you like. Whether you've had it before or whether you knew it was going to be on ahead of time. You also could just enjoy the company of your peers and drink what's available instead of worrying about ticks.

I'd say once a day, unless no update is necessary. Otherwise, don't have a list that is published anywhere. For me it's "use it or lose it."

Can't stand the places that have something like "ask your server about our our craft beer selections" on their menu. It never fails that I can see roughly 12 taps across the room at the bar but the waiter or waitress starts stumbling after the first 4 or 5 they can remember.

Same here. I don't go out to bars and restaurants to drink most of the time. Do most drinking at home So when I do, I have to know exactly what's available, and if it's something I can't normally get my hands on. I like updated lists. I especially like when they have an accurate special events calendar. I'll usually go to a beer bar for tap takeovers. So it's nice to know what's coming up.

I wouldn't say it's essential, but I definitely do look online ahead of time and appreciate having an online tap list. In this day and age, I cannot understand how a restaurant, bar, or brewery does not have a Facebook page at minimum. And if you have a Facebook page or website, it's just laziness to not have it updated with your menu(s). We have 3 big (36+ taps) beer bars in the area. All of them update their beer menus on their websites daily. It's not hard.

I don't understand the comment above about expecting beer drinkers to work at beer bars, so a 3-6 day lag on updating menus is ok. What's that mean? Beer drinkers are lazy? I expect beer bars to employ workers who are getting paid to perform simple tasks like updating online beer menus.

I responded "somewhat" because there are situations I care and situations I don't.

I don't care when it's a bar/restaurant I go to regularly and trust they have good rotating taps.
I do care if I've never been to a place before or are traveling.

However, I do think a bar/restaurant that puts time and energy into having good rotating taps is making a business mistake by not taking the extra step to keep up an online beer list to cater to the beer hunters out there. They are just giving those potential customers a reason to go somewhere else.

I'm not saying lazy, just more laid back, or busy serving beers, chatting with regulars, or whatever else goes on in a bar that might take priority over updating the website. Different strokes for different folks. I'm a frugal heat seeking missile of a consumer at bottle shops, but if I'm going out to a bar, its to get out of the house to unwind and socialize. If a website gives me a general idea of the kinds of beers they have on tap, I'm not discouraged if I get there and the online list was dated, as I can find something to enjoy. I do appreciate a bar that provides a same day, accurate beer list on their site, but in the grand scheme of beer things that I care about, it's not a huge deal to me if a list turned out to be a couple days old. If there's something I really want to seek out at a bar, I'll call ahead and confirm its there.

We have so many options now that if I have to choose between a bar/brewer who has their menu updated (and I know I'll have something I want to try) vs. one that doesn't, you know which one I'll be going for.

I have two places on my way home within a few miles of each other; one with about 50 taps, the other north of 80 taps. They have very different atmosphere but the staff at both places are pretty knowledgeable and cool overall. The only way I can decide which one to visit sometimes is what's on that sounds super intriguing.

Zero importance whatsoever. The only times I've ever even looked at a beer list on-line is when I'm just killing time. I don't need to pre-plan every aspect of my life.

Put me down as another person who considers it a must.

Where I currently live, there are just way too many outstanding beer bars to choose from, and so I need to employ some sort of method when choosing one place over another. Ambiance, food and knowledgeable, friendly bartenders factor into the equation as well, but in the end, I'm there for the beer. Frankly, it's reached the point that I don't want to go anywhere unless I know in advance that my destination has at least several "must have" options available (and I'm moving up to PDX, where if anything this "problem" will likely get worse). Thankfully, here in Eugene, most places update their online taplist daily, and several places in town even have a "live" list online.

I'm sure I could cope if most places in town didn't have a current online taplist, but seeing as how most places have them now, my feeling is why not take advantage of the service.

Ill go with very important to me. It is nice to be able to check out a menu before deciding where I want to go. I also live in an area with many great options (chicago). in a small town, it might not be a huge deal as u are gonna go to the one or 2 places in town that might even have craft (my old predicament back in MI).

If its not gonna be up to date, the biggest thing to me for an online menu is if it has a Date on it. I can at least make my own assertion if a particular beer will still be around if I can at least see when the menu was updated.

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. In this day an age of twitter, Facebook and instagram I cant fathom why bars can't/won't snap a picture of their tap list and post it.

im in the "Not Important" in my area the few bar will tweet out a tap list, but with rotating taps that could change in an hour or 2.
