Rainy Saturday. Needs the clouds to part, so I can tear up that patio concrete.

Looks like a beautiful day for golf!
I bought this mix pack from Von Trapp last week, and I must say I've enjoyed them all.
    Happy Saturday!

Kasteel blond. The picture doesn't do justice to the color of the beer as it's a bit cloudy out here. Maybe I'll get some sunshine making pictures of the next beers I'll have today!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Looking like it is going to be a really nice day out there today. Will definitely be getting in a nice long bike ride today, finally got my bike rack hitch installed this week. Beers this morning:

Delicious gose as always. Flavors of lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear, green apple, orange peel, coriander, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness, citrus peel bitterness, and earthy spice on the finish; very smooth and crisp, with light wheat creaminess and balanced acidity/salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-medium dryness. Medium carb/light-medium bodied. A really spot on example of the style here. Not as acidic as most of the other American made Gose; but still had a solid amount. Highly refreshing and flavorful stuff.

Excellent DIPA, finally finished off the 6 pack. Flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, papaya, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, and pine hops; with light-moderate cracker/bready/light honey malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/spicy bitterness; with a medium bodied sticky/resinous mouthfeel with a fair amount of grainy creaminess. Moderate increasing dryness with zero hop astringency. Quite lighter feeling on the malts than I expected, and very bright/dank on hops. Very drinkable for the ABV.

Still tasting awesome, still keep finding more of this around. Flavors of big earthy dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toasted dark bread, caramel, toffee, smoke, char, and light molasses/dark fruit; with some moderate pine/light citrusy hop notes. Good sized roast/char and pine bitterness; with a medium-full bodied creamy/silky mouthfeel. Light-moderate roast/hop dryness. Smooth/lightly warming finish. I will be grabbing more singles as I see them for sure.

Wow, 2014 just keeps getting better and better. Huge flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, vanilla, toffee, brown sugar, bourbon, toasted oak, and light molasses/coconut/butterscotch. Balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness; minimal warming on the finish. Very smooth sipping; with a creamy, silky, and lightly slick full body mouthfeel. I already got some of this year’s batch, but I am really glad I bought more of this batch when I found it last fall. Weyerbacher’s big BBA beers are pretty boozy fresh, but turn into a sublime experience after 1-2 years every time. Always love it.

Having friends over for board game night tonight. My three-year-old started early, but her favorite weekend game apparently is "beat the clock". So I needs my coffee...

These trippy bastards are also just what the doctor ordered right now.

Drink early, drink often, but drink safely (John Law gonna be getting the early jump on the holiday weekend).

The Legacy of this Bad Boy lives on.

Call me old fashioned, but, wait a minute, I am old. Skipping past that (like I could skip) I am glad to see this reintroduction. Oh, I'm not saying I believe it's the same as the original or anything, yet it is a look back. And why not, like a classic car, they made some good stuff back when. This beer showcases Cluster hops which in one form or another have been used in this Country for about 300 years now which is quite remarkable when you think about it. Golden color, refreshing hop forward flavor, solid malt frame, good texture and taste, lots to recommend it and no flaws that I can find. Shows what the simple approach can accomplish.

Good morning BAs! It's an overcast morning here in the thumb web of MI but it's probably still better than in NW PA. Today's Breakfast Beer is:

Happy Saturday. Overcast here further south in MI. It looks like it could rain. I just opened an Expedition Stout and am going to cook up some potatoes and eggs.

    Enjoy the morning BAs...
