Sounds like bottles are still available? Plan to be there Tuesday if so.

    Whatever.

Westbrook is effectively lying to the people who want their product.

By having a FAQ on their website that says they'll say a few days ahead of time both the bottle limit and exact details of the release... and then continually not doing that they are very clearly extending the middle finger towards the people who most want to be able able to buy some but who also need to make some plans ahead of time to do so (whether to plan travel or accommodations, etc)

At this point in my life, I'm done dealing with companies that treat customers like that.

It didn't affect me in any way this year. I was at the Foothills BA SC release, since they actually gave details on their happenings and I could plan for it. Had a blast.

Because of those plans and other stuff (my kids sports), there was no way for me to get to the release this year anyway.

That's kind of the point. There is a Mexcian Cake section of the FAQ that clearly spells out everything to do with the release of it.

They know they aren't following it, yet they let it sit out there. If you call them or e-mail them, they refer you to the FAQ.

Its bad customer service that is both completely avoidable and unnecessary.

Update the FAQ and/or stop telling people to RTFM when it's bad information.

I can't say for sure, but I think there were plenty of glasses available. Probably one in 20 people were buying one. They were $10, which was $5 cheaper than the normal Westbrook glass.

The second to last comment on page 3 might answer at least one question. I get your point though, they should update their FAQ. Then again, maybe they were trying to get you to notice this part:
    1. WHEN IS MEXICAN CAKE AVAILABLE?
Mexican Cake is released once each year in early May. Barrel-aged Mexican Cake is usually released in August or September. Please do not call/email and ask about the exact release date

Tell you you what wise guy... why don't you call them to let them know the FAQ is out of date regarding MC releases and let me know what response they give you, hmmmm?

Please post back here with your experience and let us know if it was any different than mine, okay?

There response would be, okay, we'll take a look at that...sheesh man, it's beer. Their page doesn't accurately reflect how they released their MC. While I don't care for a lot of what Westbrook does, you are digging here!

I don't think you understand what a pain in the ars this beer is for Westbrook, as well as every bottle shop in the area. Every single day these shops get calls asking about Mexican Cake. Every time I'm at the brewery, some group of poor grandparents walk in asking about Mexican Cake. We are a tourist driven town, and for every beer nerd out there, there is one of their friends or relatives coming here every week. The brewery just wants to get the beer out to as many people as possible. The last thing they want is a line of hundreds of people driving from all over the east coast and have to turn people away...

Anyways, once again, it's just beer. You should be able to get some in NC...I don't understand the butthurt bc their website gave you some bad info!

Had it on draft this past weekend and bought my allotment as well as a glass. Initial impressions were that this year's batch was muuuuuuuuuuuch better (I was highly disappointed last year). I tried it on draft to make sure before I bought any. Definitely recommend it.

Nice theory, but that's not how it goes down when you call.

Why don't you man up and and actually call them to tell them the FAQ is outdated to get the experience I got?

And this was back in March when I was just trying to double-check... I called and said politely and straightforward that the information in the FAQ on the MC release appeared to be old and I wanted to verify that it would or would not be a silent release this year. I was told "Go read the FAQ carefully, there is a whole section on the Mexican Release" *click*

Lol rosmith, this is your battle pal, no one else is going to fight it for you. What exactly are you looking for here? If you want WB to change their policy or update the FAQ, why don't you call again or email or do something yourself apart from bitch in this forum and tell other people to call. You're beating a dead horse here and the only one in the thread complaining. You couldn't make the release anyway as stated above, who cares?

They shouldn't brew MC one year to just to see what happens. Or maybe just only keg it. Would love to see the shitstorm on these threads. Haha.
