I think an entire batch of Biere Peche was flat. My bottle was, and it was the same for everyone I talked to.

Hey @deGardebrewing, thanks for this tasty Anian. What's the fruit in it? I can't figure it out.

At the risk of drawing attention to it, thus reducing my chances, I just saw a DeGarde FB post, and the 3rd Anniversary beer is for sale this weekend. For serious, I would like a bottle, preferably 2, and maybe a couple bottles of whatever else is available. Anybody hook me up? Plenty Wander/Structures/Bham brews at my finger tips.

Unfortunately, I think half the beer world has seen it at this point. And there's a fair amount of discussion amongst party attendees voicing their disappointment, not so much in the fact that they likely won't get one but disappointed in the name choice. Most party goers were understanding and appreciative of the fact that the Anniversary beer wasn't ready and thus dG didn't feel comfortable releasing it - an admirable decision. But, I don't think it crossed anyone's mind that dG would still release an Anniversary beer. My personal assumption was that they would release it under a different name so as not to slight all the people that made the trek out for the party.

When it come to DeGarde, I have no doubt the entire beer world has seen it before me. But, sometimes ya throw some clamshit against the wall to what sticks. Personally, I have no issue with them still calling it the Anniversary beer, and wouldn't think anyone would feel slighted because it was released with that name. They aimed for a release at the party, but were just a bit off target. It happens; shrug. (BTW, we in the NW forum need a shrug emoji)

I respect the feedback here, but would like to clarify a few things:
The beer had been in bottles for almost five months (on top of the average age of 2 years in barrel). It's not an imperial stout that can be bottled and sold the same day. Actual wild beer takes time. In this instance, it took more time than expected. We are not going to relabel bottles because of an unexpected delay, and I would sincerely hope that anyone from out of state that attended the party would understand not only our beer and processes, but also respect that they still received what is in this market a ridiculous value and 10 bottles at a party. A party. No specific beers were mentioned or were promised. Just that we would have some, and that any bottles released were guaranteed for each attendee. The notion that this was promised or is owed to any individual is insulting. We did not promise it, and we did not want to sell a beer that was not ready.
I'll add that releasing bottles that aren't ready to be consumed is a horrible idea. Any issues may never resolve, and storage/maturation conditions play an absolutely massive role in how the beer turns out.

    There's no pleasing some people.

Apparently they aren't disappointed in not getting a beer, but the label is a point of contention?
I think someone on here posted about Pokemon recently...

Edit: It bears repeating that we have done an anniversary beer once before. And didn't say we were this time.

Yes, slighted isn't the right word, nor is disappointed because I'm neither of those things nor do I think anyone necessarily should be - though given some of the responses on Facebook . Anyone who attended the party had an awesome time (I hope), including myself. The lack of a specific Anniversary beer and subsequent release of one doesn't detract from it for me at all. It is a "shrug and move on" kind of thing.

@deGardebrewing, the party was an incredible time as were the beers that were allotted. I don't think anyone can say they didn't get their money's worth and more.

The only notion I had of an Anniversary beer this time around is from past parties (which I wasn't fortunate enough to attend) and your exchange with @maltmaster420 for a planned one this year from when the list was announced.

I think it's a symbolic thing that some people are taking a little too hard.

damn... seems like you cant even share a personal opinion or constructive criticism on facebook without people jumping down your throat about it.

guess ill just sit out future discussions and continue on continuing on keeping my thoughts to myself.

Shrug. You are free to share your opinion. And others are free to disagree with it. That works pretty well, doesn't it?

I'm confused. This is all over some comments that were made on Facebook?

I read over all the previous posts subsequent to the party, and didn't see any criticism in this thread. One person made a comment that he wished dG would have called the anniversary beer something else, seeing as how it wasn't actually released during the anniversary party. Trevor then explained why that really wasn't practical, and his response certainly made sense to me. Both comments seemed pretty reasonable and level headed to me. As for the comments about the bottles released at the party, it seemed to me that they were about what you would expect from any dG fan. They were happy with what they got, but of course wished they could have gotten more. That seems like a normal reaction from someone who loves dG beers.

The comments on Facebook weren't outrageous. However, de Garde can do what they want with their beer, no one is entitled anything nor should they expect to be.

I had a trip planned to visit family near Tillamook over the weekend, so I feel fortunate that I was able to attend both the party as well as pick up Saison Melange 4 and 3rd Anniversary. Saison Melange 4 was great, but that Anniversary beer is amazing. I was truly blown away.

@deGardebrewing , a quick question; how's this years Cascadian Hairy Clam harvest looking? I've heard reports that the CHC run might be a little slow this year.
