What beers epitomize summer for you?

    This weekend is the unofficial start to summer. In my home I thought, "Summer is here, I have to stop and pickup some Dead Rize."

    I'm not asking what are your favorite summer seasonals? or what beer is the best for the beach? My question is beer or beers are your summer essentials?

    Here are mine:
    Flying Dog Dead Rize-
    The idea of this beer sounded disgusting. When I finally tried it I loved it. The hint of Old Bay reminds me of eating craps on the porch at the shore. It is a staple at my summer news
    Carton Boat-
    the best hoppy session beer. Finds its way into the cooler all year long but even more so in the summer. My dad and brothers request it for fishing trips.
    Dogfishhead Festina Peche
    Another beer that becomes a necessity the first time the weather turns warm.
    Cricket Hill Jersey Summer Breakfast Ale.
    Do I need to say why?

    I'm looking for some good summer beer in cans this season. Available in NY. There was a thread recently, need to find it. Bitburger is always easy to find.

    Victory Summer Love & Prima Pils
    Troegs Sunshine Pils
    Dogfish Head Festina Peche
    Cigar City Jai Alai
    and definitely Stone IPA now that it's in cans.

    Any mix of these beers will more often than not make up the majority of my summer fridge.

    My two favorite seasonals (from any season) are probably Smuttynose Hayseed and Troegs Sunshine Pils. One day, either one of these two might start to epitomize summer, but pale German lagers are what really epitomize it.

    Great question. my family always goes camping early june around the same time Beer camp across America is out from Sierra Nevada- So I usually grab a pack for that. This year I think I'm drinking lots of PIVO pils though....

    Pils- either Sly Fox, Sunshine, Trauger and now Victory
    IPA- Two Hearted, County Line and now Stone
    Gose- Lost Nation or Anderson Valley

    The sun loves to make those beautiful pale german lagers glitter like gold. And I love to drink them.

    Besides that, there will be hefeweizens, belgian saisons, rauchbiers and some of those geuzes I've been saving.

    No particular beer though, within those guidelines.
