I have mixed feelings. It's a little bit hot & that seems to be sabotaging some of the bolder chocolate notes. It did open up a bit as it warmed, but any complexity was more implied than defined (if that makes any sense :astonished:). I'd probably say its a lesser offering in the grand scheme of Evil Twin Stouts.
P.S. Great to see some Elton John represented today! :-)

    Cheers!

Edit: I would appear that I've inadvertently cultivated a color-palate theme thus far with my album choices

@ions passes the... to @VelvetExtract. Then @MUTINY has to go and put a damper on things. Maybe it's because things were getting out of hand once math got involved . I was going to run and grab a Puff, but I knew I couldn't get a pic in in time :slight_frown::slight_frown:.

Not sure whether this is a bad Tripel or that it tasted so because I had a Tripel Karmeliet before it but I ended up tossing it anyway. As for the label, it's a typical pinup series label by Dominion.

As my fridge was down to just a couple bottles of beer last night, I randomly picked up the Sam Adams summer pack. Trying my first beer from that box right now.

Summer Ale. Never had this one before. First impression is... it's very, very mild. Like... smells just a little wheaty, pretty much just tastes like wheatiness -- kinda like a slightly better Coldsnap (which I was pretty unimpressed with after trying a pint at a restaurant so I never ended up trying a full pack of it.)

As I drink more, though, my opinion of this one is improving a bit -- there is a quick little burst of other flavors right at the start of a drink, it just fades to that generic wheatiness afterward. Little sips don't do it for this one -- you definitely have to drink more of a gulp every time to really pick up on the flavors much, and when I do there is a bit of a lemony thing and some spiciness that pops up for a little bit there. Some mild yeast flavors in there too. After about half the glass, I can pick up a little bit of that spiciness when I breathe out; yeast and spice seems to become more noticeable over time, and the lemon less so.

Yeah, this is definitely better than Coldsnap was after all, despite first impressions that it was disappointingly similar. Not going to rush out to buy a full six-pack or anything, but it is overall a pretty pleasant little beer.

Hey again BA'a and vinyl lovers.....kind of spaced "Crate Day" was today earlier....

    Have to fix that....

Big DEVO fan, not just because they are from my hometown of Akron OH, but, well....they are weird and different!

Robert Mothersbaugh Sr, father of the 3 brothers who co-founded the group, passed away earlier this week....

Cool green vinyl - kind of a rare disc

Starting my day with a DuClaw Hell on Wood. Really like what the barrel aging does to this beer.
