Good morning all. Here a quick memorial day story to start your day

Warning: this may be gross to some and a waste of beer has occurred

After drinking from 4pm yesterday until 4am this morning my body decided its had enough. Im ending my night with this Hi Res. Taking it easy. Casually fall asleep until im jolted awake off the couch and suddenly the beer came back lol and covered my wall. You know.....that scene in the Exorcist?

Hope you all had an equally as fun holiday. But thank you to all the service and troops, thats what its really about. PD and FD included. I sure miss my days with the FD. Cheers.

 

Good morning BA, hope everyone has an enjoyable holiday today. I am enjoying the last bit of my holiday beer stash I had this morning.

Always fantastic, just got a fresh 6 pack earlier this weekend. Grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, melon, passion fruit, berry, lemon/orange zest, and light pine; with moderate caramel/toasted bread malts. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness; balanced hop stickiness and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness; zero astringency. Super juicy on hops, I love this stuff so much.


Tasting insane right now! Huge flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, tobacco, licorice, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of herbal/pine hops, smoke, and char. Bittersweet balanced finish; very full body; lush, creamy, and silky mouthfeel that is amazing. Very smooth sipping and lightly warming on the finish. I am glad I was able to snag more of this recently. Similar to expedition, but this has more backing sweetness against the black/roast malts; instead of being more aggressively charred/drying on roasted malt character. Just amazing, hope they bring it back some day.


Top tier RIS as always. Dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted oats, dark bread, caramel, molasses, toffee, leather, and vanilla; with light smoke/char and herbal/spicy hops. Bittersweet balanced finish; full bodied, awesome creamy mouthfeel; with some light sticky/chalky/drying roast and hop notes as well. Super smooth sipping, and minimal warming ABV. Definitely a top favorite RIS for me. Wish they would distribute to Michigan already.

Adroit Theory Black Celebration Imperial Porter, Oak Staves version and Rum Barrel version. Also, bottle share tonight with some guys I have turned on to craft beer.

 

Good morning BAs! The sun is starting to burn through the cloud cover here in NW PA, and I'm starting to burn through my stomach's epithelial layer!



Guess I'll have to cut back on the breakfast salsa.

 

A bright start for a beautiful day . . .



Appearance: Bright yellow with white cap and above average lacing.

Aroma: Nice, pleasant, the spicy, lemony, citrusy stuff steps up and politely introduce themselves. Little detectable in the way of hops or malt but gold star for lovely introduction.

Taste: Follows the aroma, no surprises here, hey, it is a Summer Wheat Ale. Blends in well yet still stands out a bit in the crowd. Slightly rich without being sweet and more complex than the label would indicate. Lemon and spice and everything nice, a pleasant interlude.

Texture: Medium at least.

Overall: All light stepping spritely in her pretty Summer dress.

Oldest daughter now in Nebraska on Day 3 of her five day cross-country trek to Rhode Island and grad school, youngest daughter (graduates high school next week) and mom (navigating the emotions of all life events) both asleep upstairs...me and my boy enjoying some peace and morning sustenance
