I'm currently drinking a G'Knight and I don't get any onion in it. I get grapefruit, peach, mango, and a little bit of pine with a real resiny feel (maybe that's where some people are getting onions). I have had Gubna and I got the onions when I looked for them, but I also got grapefruit and marijuana. Deviant Dale's, Dale's, Ten Fidy, and Old Chub are all terrific. Mama's Pils is good, too. You can't miss with Oskar Blues.

Also, who cares what we say? Go out and try them! How bad could it be?

Ten Fidy is a must have for RIS. Deviant Dales is a great IIPA too.

I've yet to try a brew from Oskar Blues that I didn't like, I do taste that onion flavor in Gubna but it doesn't really bother me. One of my favorite breweries.

Oskar Blues just solid across the board in my mind! Dales Pale Ale, Ten Fidy, G'Knight (originally Gordons), Deviant, Old Chub!!!

    Ten Fidy is the bomb.

Gubna is an rotten onion bomb IMHO.

Gubna does have that very distinct Summit flavor; some like it, some don't, for whatever reason people tend to form strong opinions.

G'Knight, on the other hand, doesn't have that flavor at all, to my taste anyway. I really really like G'Knight, though I admit I haven't had it recently - that was the beer that made me a hophead four years ago; haven't really looked back.

Deviant Dales is my favorite from them. I really enjoy Momma's Little Yellow Pils, and I'm generally not a Pils fan.

I like onions, but Gubna is just plain nasty to my tastes. Oskar Blues beers are home run or strikeout. I really like Yellow Pils, Ten Fidy, G'Knight, but really don't like Gubna, Old Chub, Gordon.

I think Ten Fidy is the best. I'm pretty sensitive to that oniony taste and I definitely get it with Deviant Dale's.

I have never tasted onion flavor in Gubna but see this said alot about both Gubna and DD. What ingredient ( Summit Hops?) is in these beers that causes that? Or is this a figment of everyone's imagination?

I don't think you can blame the Summit hops alone. There's a local brewery in Denver (Renegade) that makes a summit-only DIPA that I absolutely love. There are also a few other summit blended beers I like, too. There's something else going on that creates that onion flavor for some people.

I have tasted other brews with Summit hops with no onion flavor. I think the wise thing to do is pick up some Deviant and Gubna and give them a test drive. I am also going to give G'Knight another go.

No onion taste for me in G'Night, definitely a little in Gubna though. Deviant is my favorite beer from Oskar Blues but it's just over priced @~$12/4-pack when I can get DalesPA for $15/12-pack.

Drinking my first Deviant Dale's right now. I think it's really good. It's got a lot of citrus and pine and the pine isn't over-the-top imo even though people have said it is. I can't detect any strong onion notes.
