I don't know if I'm in the minority here, but I sure enjoy a stout that is smooth and goes down easy, has a medium feel, while still extremely flavorful.

I think KBS is super crushable, I drink the bottle down super fast compared to the big fudgy thick ones like BCBS or Speedway. (love thick stouts too, but hard to drink after eating).

What are some of your favorite crushable stouts?

Mine are KBS, Xocoveza, and Undead Party Crasher.

I already love this thread!! Must people wouldn't consider stouts "crushable"...but I love heavier beers and I have tendency to drink them way too quickly. The one that I am finding crushable now is Bell's 30th Anniversary.

I have a hard time crushing 12% stouts.

I'm guessing there won't be many nominations for Buery's stouts at their ABV's

I'm expecting Guinness and I get double-digit ABV and spiced beers. It's like a parody of craft beer "raising the bar"... but it isn't.

I'd give it a couple of minutes.

BCBS and all its variants tend to get me in trouble. I have to remind myself its not a session beer...:rolling_eyes:

Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. Wake Up Dead Nitro is also smooth and easy to drink, despite its higher ABV. I LOVE NITRO

Summit Oatmeal Stout on Nitro reminded me of drinking a dark mild, it was so smooth.

Guinness Draught to me, is the Bud Light of Stouts... So yes, Guinness gets my vote

I don't find double-digit stouts crushable at all, and I tend to avoid them these days. For drinkability I'd choose something in the 5.5-7.5% range. Think about some oatmeal stouts or just some lower abv stouts in general.

Off the top of my head, Sam Smith's Oatmeal Stout, Anderson Valley Barney Flats, Left Hand Milk Stout, Dominion Oak Barrel, New Holland The Poet, MBC Mean Old Tom and Modern Times Black House (or better yet, one of the variants). Some of these are more drinkable than others, but all in the vein of what you're looking for.

If we are counting porters, Fuller's porter is remarkably smooth.
Not sure if they still make it, but Sam Adams cream stout is also really damn smooth and easy drinking.

Sun Up White Russian is pretty crushable for a Stout. It is one of the more amazing Stouts I have drank.

personally, i can't crush stouts/porters like i can crush pils (other lagers) or even IPAs (pale ales, etc). but Left Hand Nitro seems to disappear from my glass quicker than most.

but i don't put away stouts like i do other styles. especially in the summer, just too much to drink and i don't find them as refreshing as other beer styles.

    It's a low Abv brew.
