Almost never here. I dumped half a bomber of Southern Tier Crème Brulee, and a few old homebrews that didn't make the grade. It's very rare that I get something that I can't choke down - I don't think I've gotten any noticeably off beers commercially.

It should be noted that that drain pouring is not always uniform. That is, there's a difference between taking a sip or two of a beer and deciding you hate it and that it deserves the sink, and drinking half or more of a beer before saying that you've had enough or you've come to a point where you're just not loving it anymore.

The former is very rare for me, the latter a bit more common and typically occurs when I'm heading towards the end of a session and decide to open an imperial stout or boozy scotch ale etc. I sit and I enjoy it but I really tend to nurse these types of beers and sometimes it's just time to turn in for the night. It's similar to cigar smoking and deciding when you're done with your cigar: you can smoke it till it burns your fingers, or you can decide that you're content and put it down when there's still a bit left.

Can only think of 2 or 3 beers that I could not finish. Hate the drain pour but sometimes it has to happen.

If I'm feeling pretty adventurous I tend to seek out single bottles of 12oz to try before investing in a pack. Or on tap. I can usually finish a pint or so pour, so I haven't had to drain pour that many. I did end up cooking with half bottle or so of DFH Fort couple years ago. I was not ready for that beer.

Really upset that there isn't a "1 in every 5" option. Such noobs creating threads these days.

I've only drain poured one beer. PARABOLA!!! JK. If you paid the price for the beer, then you pay the price with your palate. Hold your damn nose then!

If the question is how often do I take a few sips of a beer, absolutely hate it and drain pour the rest, I would say almost never. Once in a while though (1 in 100?) I get like half way done or more and I'm just not enjoying the beer. Rather than forcing myself to finish it I'll pour it down the drain.

Only one, Boulevard Funky Pumpkin. My bad - it clearly said sour on the label, but good god it was like vinegar.

I usually pour out maybe one in every fifty. I'm too old and life's too short to keep drinking a beer I don't like.

my first one in the first time i can ever recall was sunday night. it was a horrid bomber from Tomoqua? Brewing in FL that i didn't pay for, so that made it a lot easier to part with. just terrible.

    Ideally? Never.
Realistically? Only if I can't stand what I'm drinking.
I can count my drainpours on one hand but it's more because I can't stand to literally pour money down the drain than anything.

Drainpours are a reality but they happen so rarely that I think that is hwy there is ceremony about it. I think in all the beer I have had I have about 5 or 6 drainpours. So that's 2 a year.

I've only drain poured twice, one due to apparent infection and the other due to how old it was and how badly it tasted.

Rarely drainpour. When I do, it's usually just the last 2-4oz or so.

I don't drain pour. If it's a really bad beer for whatever reason, I'll just never drink it again (Sam Adams Triple Bock comes to mind).

I've only drain poured a 1+ year old poorly stored Erdinger hefeweizen that my mom bought me because it was actually disgusting. It was a kind gesture, and my mom was excited to give me a German beer, but damn was it repulsive.

Fresh Erdinger is not a bad brew, however.

So one drain pour in over 500 beers is not too shabby, and I only did it because I literally could not ingest the coagulated gunk and other nastiness in that beer.
