I hope we get the new releases on tap this week. I've really enjoying skipping out on the lines and just drinking the beers in the tap room.

Funny: the can I'm looking forward to the most this release is the pilsner.

Funny you say that, as I have no faith they can properly execute a pilsner. I had Trendler from Tired Hands and found it a swampy, yeasty mess. I'm kind of assuming that's what OH would produce.

I had a similar level of skepticism towards Lime Green Galaxies. I didn't think Other Half could pull off a fruited Kolsch, especially when you consider that I didn't enjoy Boogie Board Stuntz. But I must have been wearing orthopedic shoes during that time, because I stood corrected.

While we're on the subject: is Boogie Board Stuntz a reference to the Action Bronson song Twin Peugots off of Blue Chips 2? Big Body Bes has a line in that song saying "had your moms on the motherfuckin' boogie board, doing all types of stunts."

I might be a little drunk, but I know OH has a penchant for hip-hop references, so it's not entirely off-base.

The state of the beer world as is places Trendler as the #1 rated German Pils on Untappd following Mary. We'll see where OH's attempt lands.

Action Bronson is a beer fan, Stillwater just sent over a box of their beers to him

In town for the weekend. I remember last year around this time just strolling into OH and grabbing a four pack of all green. What are the chances that cans last through the afternoon on Saturday?

    Thanks,
    Your friendly Chicagoan

Ha I remember those days. I was actually in the line at 8am for that release because someone here was trolling saying hundreds of people were lined up so I ran over, turned out I was the 5th person in line. Getting there at 8am now would actually put me around 100-150. But no, I dont see the two IPAs lasting into the afternoon, Pilsner probably will.

Depending on the amount they canned your most likely bet is the Pilsner. You'll def be able to grab growlers though.

Thanks guys. Crazy how much things change in such a short time. I'll be happy with Pilsner and a growler fill.

I'm going to be in town Saturday and was hoping to hit up the brewery for the first time but now I see there's going to be a release at 10am. What time should I get there if I want to avoid the madness? I don't care about getting any to-go beer, I just want to sample whatever is on offer.

I have somewhere to be in the evening so the earlier the better for me. Will things have died down by the usual noon opening time?

Kind of random but how are people traveling to/from Manhattan with the F & G train being borked at Smith St. on weekends for so long?

Man, last release I walked up to Atlantic ave to catch the 2/3. It was a workout to carry that much beer that far!

thanks for reminder on this. with the subway being what it is, it may be harder for me to get there and back from manhattan than someone driving in from out of the city!
