Can you all stop bitching about the cost?

If you don't want to pay, shut up and move on. No one is forcing you to pay.

We don't want to hear it.

I'm pretty sure everyone here blows money on silly stuff all the time.
    That's part of life.

The forum here is to talk about BEER. If you want to talk about saving money, go elsewhere.

    End of rant. Thanks!

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm just wondering: Is the bottle count sunstantially higher this year? If there's a significant increase in bottles, maybe it won't have as much value this time around... maybe? And someone will trade it to me...?

You mean all goods? Every hobby has these same issues to some degree, many worse than beer...

Would you guys pay that price if the opportunity to purchase a case of FO was eliminated?

I think he was being sarcastic. Michelin star restaurants are another level.

What exactly are you trying to confirm/achieve here? That the dinner isn't worth $140.00? That people are shitlords because they will buy into a $140.00 dinner just for the opportunity to purchase beer?

Would you have posted this if the opportunity to rile people up was eliminated?

Honestly, probably. Haven has similar 5-6 course meals and the price point is roughly in that ball park. I paid about 85 for one with fewer courses that had pairings and used HPB beer without any bottles, and you know how often I'm there to drink the stuff anyway.

In this case, the Chef is really talented that is putting this together.

We should feel lucky we live here and have the opportunity to attend. A lot of people around the country and world would kill for this dinner and the chance to buy a full case.

I have spent less at Craftsteak in Las Vegas including drinks. I love Patrick but last time I checked he is not Tom Colicchio.

Then you probably didn't have their price fixed offering ... Craftsteak 3-course meal plus drinks is significantly more than the $110 Bottle Logic offering ... but whatever

I don't believe that they offer a pre-fixe menu there, I could be wrong. But to prove my point. This is what I ordered.

    Pre dinner Manhattan- $15
    16oz NY Strip- $49
    Asparagus- $15
    Sweet Potatoes- $13
    1 bottle of Rochefort 10- $12

Grand Total = 104 + tax and tip. I even added the 2 sides that my girlfriend and I shared.

No tasting menu at Craftsteak Vegas.

Bottom line is that the $140 + BPT fees is a significant sum of money for most. That plus the cost of a case of FO would put a large dent in most peoples' beer funds.

Either way, people will either find the money spent well for the dinner or better spent elsewhere.

Still excited to try this year's batch of FO nonetheless. Hopefully I can score some bottles during the general sale.
