yes I meant KBBS silver wax release in 2013, at which Naughty Temple, an earlier/different incarnation of SR-71, and Mornin' Delight were all available on tap. Some Yellow Wax Assassin bombers that day, too, but on-premise only.

In regards to Rue the Crown, wondering if they're getting info from mug club members first to see how many they may have left over, if any, for a second lottery for the general public?

Yeah, I wish I had went. Back in the day I thought $13 was too high for a 12oz bottle. :grimacing::grimacing:

I went to first KBBS release, was one of best events I've ever attended.

Does anyone else think that Rue the Crown might be a shot at King Henry? I know that they are different styles, though I think that Starkbier might be being used a little loosely. I was just wondering. I know mike had a KH like 3 days ago so my mind kinda jumped to wondering if there was any connection between the name and the aging process on both beers.

    Cheers!

I don't remember those other ones on draft. I was just there for the night they released KBBS on draft the first time I think. They had a sign for a special tapping, I was driving up to Minneapolis from Dyersville, stopped in and had a pour.

There is zero connection between Rue the Crown and King Henry.

They had KBBS on draft too, though it tapped out crazy quick. We were there right when they opened and still weren't able to get a pour. MD was flowin though, as was the SR-71, though it was two years old I believe. We got our stickers and waited in line. After everyone got their beers there were still some bottles left over so they let us get in line again and my buddy and I ended up each getting another bottle. That was pretty sweet.

Also, If I remember correctly, wasn't 2013 assassin not initially distro, but then they ended up sending some out to places? I remember Waterfront Hyvee in IC getting a case at some point and selling it for $28(I think). I saw the email right as I was getting out of class and was able to snag one.

I'd happily pay $50. It's going to go for $200+ on the secondary markets so TG might as well get some of that on their end

You would happily pay $50 to drink a barrel aged Starkbier, or to sell it?

Right? This mentality is everything I hate about what beer has become. Gotta get the newest tick no matter what cost and hoops you have to jump through. Beetus is a lot cheaper at the convenience store

I don't think I've ever looked at a beer and been like "man that could pay my car payment in secondary value." Ew. No.

Question about the lottery style. If there is indeed leftovers for the general public (non-mug club), how do they typically make people aware of the lottery and is it through email or in person or what?

I don't think they have ever done a lottery per say...Im also not sure they have the software to sort through the 20-40k entries that they will likely receive if it is a true lottery (I know very little about software)...only saying that because they made it sound like it was a big deal going through the emails for the mornin delight sign up

Most likely some form of social media, might just be a random silent release too though.
