Trillium is my go to brewery, but I'm trying to make an effort to lower my beer expenses. What are some of your favorite brews that come in under $10 a 6 pack or better yet, available in a 12 pack. Ideally looking for that tropical new england style ipa, but I'm open to suggestions of all styles of beer. Thanks
On the cheap and drinkable, but doesn't necessarily tick all of your boxes: Ipswich Route 101. 12 packs are 13-$15.
Jacks Abby has some super solid value options. Hoponius, calyptra, house lager, excess if you find yourself feeling more pricey. Route 101 is solid as well.
Don't think you're gonna find NE IPAs that are readily available and in that format, but I agree that Jacks Abbey is your best bet.
So I went to the store and picked up a 12 of hoponius and a 12 of infinite jest. Drinking the infinite jest now and wow I'm surprised at the flavor here. Very tasty stuff. Nose and initial palate is very good. Finish is a little watery and lacking, but overall better than I was expecting.
Drinking Hoponius now, maltier and more bitter than I remember. It's been over a year since I last had it. I definitely prefer the infinite jest. Is there anything out there like the infinite jest but with a bit more body and higher abv?
Everything by Newburyport Brewing Co is tasty and $10ish/sixer-- Greenhead IPA, Pale Ale, Plum Island Belgian White...
If not sticking to NE beers - Founders All Day IPA 15 packs (around $16 @ Wegmans). One of the best bangs for the buck in the quality/price equation IMO. Notch 12 packs are $16-$17 & always solid.
I really wish we could get that up here in MA. I've only had it twice but I loved it both times. Total bargain. Same goes for Conehead from VT.
Great North Aleworks IPA... $10 a 6 pack, super easy to find, and it just won silver at CBC for ipa category
Hell, when Waldo's Special ale was released I got a $10.99 6-pack. That's a nice abv to price ratio (not that I judge everything by abv).
