I don't know. Before the last release I was able to get there around noon and still get full allotment. That was for Get Wheated, City Slickers, and All Green. What's the big draw for this one?

Suparillo was pretty good the first time it was canned, but I can't see how it would warrant a huge turnout again.

I'm showing up early, but it's not out of fear of leaving empty-handed. I just wanna avoid any traffic, get back to Long Island before noon, and enjoy the rest of my Saturday.

Is there anything Other Half makes that warrants waiting 4 hours?

That's a bogus question on a lot of different levels.

Everyone's tastes are different. For instance: I love All Green Everything. While I would never have to wait 4 hours for All Green Everything (generally speaking), I wouldn't exactly mind it considering that I love the beer so much and that I know it won't be available to me for at least a few months afterwards. The wait is worth the ability to stock up.

I also just happen to enjoy the experience of going to Other Half can releases. I'm a morning person as is, so I like to take the drive out there, listen to NPR on the way, sit down and read the paper/shoot the shit with a friend and/or the people I'm on line with, eat a sandwich, get my beer, and get back home before noon.

Lastly: are you of the opinion that no beers are worth waiting on line for an extended period of time for, or just Other Half beers? I have access to some fairly good beers out on Long Island (Grimm, Singlecut, Pipeworks, Barrier, etc.), but getting these beers (Grimm in particular) involves taking trips out to multiple bottle shops on a day that I have work with no guarantee that I'll be finding them. I'd rather just go out early on my day off, score a nice haul for the next week or so, and move on with my life.

All fair points. This is not unique to Other Half, I dont think 99% of beers are worth waiting 4 hours for. There are a few I would but most are not. However, I have done it at Other Half many times and at the end of the day I couldnt rationalize its worth when I could go on Friday night and drink the beers in the tap room. The can releases would kill my Saturday morning and also my Friday night. In no way is this a shot at Other Half I love their beer, just would rather enjoy them in the tap room. I guess the great thing is we can all enjoy our beer however we want.

No lay ups tasting nice, soft but enough bite leaning towards modern west coast IPA style

Going to hope to show up at 8 tomorrow. The last 5 am run was not worth it, got entirely too drunk, bought 2 green Tekus, left them on the front desk and they said i couldn't get them back because there was no way of knowing they were mine. My loss i guess. On top of added a 25% tip, which is very generous, but I'm pretty sure they make their moneys worth. Don't drink & line.

Arrived at 9:05 and I'm on the corner of Garnett and Smith. Assuming the line moves as quickly as last week this will be the "easiest" release I've done in some time*

Excluding the "Debbie Downer" release. RIP

There is an app that sends email alerts when a beer I follow on Untappd gets checked-in. I have my eyes out for Mexican Cake, got an email alert this morning for Mexican Cake and started to get excited it may be somewhere I can get it. Looked at the location of check-in, and DAMN, at Other Half!#&#&!!!
