Good morning all, here's one that's new to me . . .



Appearance: Clear light yellow with bright white clouds of cap diminishing to a light cover.

Aroma: Clean, fresh hop signature with traces of mild malt underneath.

Taste: A paper like dryness weaving through the flavor. Straight mild malt with hops forward and an almost surprising malt hop balance that elevates the whole. A well constructed beer. Hops follow to the end with no residual hop bitterness in the aftertaste which is pleasantly malty.

Texture: Medium weight with a sense of lightness if that makes sense. Medium anyway.

Overall: Well crafted beer with flavor enough to be satisfying and intriguing enough to encourage another. A beer to share with friends and discuss.

Well that sounds like it involves a story to tell the grandkids (and us!)

 

I had this last night for the first time since the late 90s. Yea I know, I've been on a bit of a malt liquor kick lately. To be honest, this actually was not that bad. It was mostly sweet corn and malt, kind of reminded me of some of these simple Euro lagers like Carlsberg or Sapporo Premium. Of course, I was already drunk so my palate was compromised. Also, after leaving it in the fridge for several hours, I put it in the freezer for 15 minutes before drinking it, so it was ice cold. I know better than to drink warm malt liquor. Obviously not a "good" beer, but I found it enjoyable and that's what matters.

 

No NBS today???

 

I was just wondering that. Maybe @cavedave and @utopiajane are both sleeping in!

 

Sweet Sunday...and I can already tell how this day might unfold (if left unsupervised and unscrutinzed)

smooth and slow start to the drinking day (covert ops in a cup)

once the "to-do" list is addressed...the drinking/pool list will re-commence

soothing Sunday sounds...as well

Happy Sunday ba. A hell of an event yesterday. I've pretty much got the cob-webs out and thankful for some unsupervised time this morning. Can't get too crazy today but I'm easing back in with this, 12/9/15,

 

My first tastes of Fonta Flora out of my favorite state, North Carolina. They were each fantastic!
