So I normally drink Yuengling when I want to have a session beer because it is cost efficient and pretty flavorful. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement?

DAB. In NJ it comes in 6-16oz. cans for $6.99. Incredible bargain for a really good beer.

Are you close enough to PA to make a Straub run (Tanczos in Bethlehem, for example). They make some nice beers- Amber, IPL, even the Sampler Packs.

Near me you can get a 15-pack of Founders All-Day IPA for $17. That's a solid deal for a damned fine beer.

Narragansett Lager is a decent beer. I really like Narragansett Bohemian Pilsner- it is perfect for your needs.

A flavorful session beer that is available in New Jersey is Caron Boat beer. That beer is AWESOME!!

I do not know whether is fulfills the requirement of “low cost” since I have never purchased this beer packaged; I have only had it on draft.

    Cheers!

The Queens Brewery Boulevard ale and Lager are reasonably priced 16 oz. cans here. Not a brewery or from Queens, however.

Hard to go wrong with SNPA 12/24 packs coming in close to 1$/beer--cans, too!

Runs at the standard cost of $9.99, but Ballast Point Even Keel is one of my absolute favorite session ales. Also quick shout-out to the Lagunitas Aunt Sally, a Dry-hopped sessionable sour that serves as an easy-drinking choice for hop-heads who wanna go into sours but want to start with something easy.

Also shout out to All-Day IPA, cause 15.99 for a 15-pack of that session is indeed a deal.

If I'm going to do a session IPA my favorite is lasso IPA. 312 or boulevard wheat are both great and affordable as well.

Depends on what you deem "cost efficient", but I'd suggest Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. Very drinkable as a summer beer, delicious, refreshing, and reasonable (for craft) at about $12 for a 6-pack.

Fat heads sunshine daydream is my favorite session but all day is my go to for affordability.

Yuengling is about $25 for a case? Maybe $7 for a sixer? If we stick to stuff in that price range then things are going to be pretty limited but there are still some other good beers in that price range. SABL is usually pretty affordable and very drinkable. Some stuff from Saranac may also fit the bill. In PA a case of one of the flagships from Great Lakes Brewing is usually only a few bucks more than Yuengling and worth every penny - I'd definitely session Dortmunder Gold.
